Psychotherapy is an incredibly powerful tool on its own, but when you combine it with Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Coherence Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and/or Mindfulness, our ability to help our clients is enhanced, especially when working with trauma. Gregory Carson, LCSWis an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and a Certified Therapist in EMDR. He is a graduate of the Somatic Experiencing Institute's 3-year training program in SE, and a graduate of the Eastern Group Psychotherapy Society’s 1-year training in Group Psychotherapy. Greg has trained in Coherence Therapy and is in regular consultation with its creator, Bruce Ecker. He is currently in his 2nd year of a 3-year training in Internal Family Systems conducted by the Center for Self Leadership. Gregory sits on the Executive Committee of the National Institute for the Psychotherapies Training Institute’s Integrative Trauma Treatment Program where he has served as faculty and currently serves as Coordinator of both the program’s Clinical Affiliates and its Saturday Clinical Seminar. Jennifer Egert, PhDis a clinical psychologist with a background in health psychology and palliative care. She specializes in mindfulness based clinical approaches to managing medical and emotional life challenges. She maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Manhattan, focused on mindfulness based psychotherapeutic interventions. Dr. Egert completed teacher training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Worcester Medical Center and studied mindfulness based approaches to psychotherapy with a number of teachers including Dr.’s Ron Siegel, Dennis Tirch and Kelly Wilson. Michelle Lepak, LCSW,with 25 years experience, integrates trauma models with each other, and into analytic work. She trained in NIP’s 4 year adult analytic program. Michelle is an IFS therapist, a level 2 EMDR therapist, an Advanced level Somatic Experiencing therapist, a level 1 AEDP therapist, and trained in Structural Family Therapy at Minuchin’s Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic. She has presented her work “Integrating IFS and EMDR” at NIP. Michelle practices in Montclair, NJ.
Shelly Rosen, LCSWis a psychotherapist with 30 years clinical experience. She maintains a private practice in Manhattan and offers individual and group consultation. She is trained in Relational/Interpersonal Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Family Therapy and Internal Family Systems. She is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, an EMDRIA Approved EMDR consultant, and a Certified EMDR therapist. Her most recent publication is Cults: A Natural Disaster-Looking at Cult Involvement through a Trauma Lens. She is interested in the intersections and relationships between psychoanalysis, trauma therapies and neurobiology.
