West Village Bistro-- Vin sur Vingt

My first reaction to this little bistro is that it LOOKS very nice and European but given its address in West Village is probably pretty pricey

But, well, let's just see what I can find out about it--hmm, looks like locals love the place...intimate and great for romantic atmosphere too

Everything about this place is perfect.  The selection rivals places I had been to in France, and the prices are great for the quality of wine you're getting.

I have come here three times:  once with a guy friend, once on a date, and once by myself.  All three times were a different experience, but all three times were magnificent.

Most recently I was here by myself after a friend canceled on my last minute.  (The horror!)  Since I was already in the West Village, I made my way over here, and god, what a great choice.  Carlos was really knowledgable about wine and helped me choose the right glasses!  I spent a good two hours here, and the time just flew.

Also, this place is FRENCH, so I got to practice my college French with the wait staff, who were all too eager to speak it too.  Win-win.

Will be back for sure.  Date or no date.

quite possibly the best escargot in the city.

sizzling hot plate, garlicky, chopped parlsey, white wine and lots of butter... perfect balance of all ingredients for a delectable experience.  dip the rest of the dripping remains with the warm french bread and you won't have to lick the plate off.

the wine selection is wonderful.  i will do a rose flight tasting if i am in the mood.

the place is very intimate.  make a great date night!  not recommended for large groups though.

Stopped by for a night cap after having dinner nearby.  The dim lighting and the cozy setting - as other Yelpers said it would be a perfect date spot.  Well, not on the first date as you probably wouldn't be able to see your date's face clearly...or maybe it would be better...  ;)

Last time I was here, they were playing French music and I felt like I was somewhere in Paris, but they were in English this time.

Good wine selections and reasonably priced - the ambiance, of course is nice...

Wow, this place is one of the most romantic places i've been! Dim lit setting, great wine and cheese pairings, I can't imagine anywhere better to take a date!
