Looking for "Healthy Eating"-- How About Hummus Kitchen?

I have been hoping to find someplace people might consider "healthy eating" but I do not know if Hummus Kitchen fills the bill...though since it is on Third Avenue next to the Kips Bay Library at 31st Street, I see it all the time..

OK, let's see what people say...well, gets good reviews but people also say "Pricey" for what it is

I  had the falafel sandwich for lunch.  It's pricier than some places nearby but it's worth the extra money because you get a larger portion, better quality and a free appetizer from the lunch special.  The meal all together I turned into two meals.

Lunch special: Free appetizer with Sandwich, Platter or Salad.  I went with the free hummus and it was a good size portion of delicious hummus.  The hummus has some green sauce mixed in there that's really tasty.

Super-friendly staff.  Quick to make the food.

    I'll definitely be going back.

I walk by Hummus Kitchen everyday and one day I randomly walked in for dinner.
We had a very friendly server (5 stars for the server).

    SHakSHUka Classic
I really like raw yolk and I was very excited when I saw the dish. It looked better than it tasted. The server recommended and I wish I picked something else. I learned warm tomato is not my thing. I wish it had more spices - the dish was too bland for me.

My friend had this and when I asked her how it was she said "she doesn't hate it". She wished she had more carbs (pita/rice)

    Home-made Lemonade with Mint Leaves
Server told us that we can add a special  alcohol to our drinks with 'traditional' alcohol that tasted like cloves.

My boyfriend and I randomly stopped in the Hummus Kitchen, and what a pleasant surprise!

The time was around 3 pm on a Saturday, and the space although small, was half full. Most patrons were enjoying brunch and sangria.

We ordered three appetizers and for an additional $4.50 we were able to add on literally, 8 additional tastings. This is a weekend only special and its a great way to try new things.

We loved, loved the hummus, cauliflower, grape leaves and fresh soft pita.

Everything we tasted we loved. Great place for a lunch or afternoon snack.

I ordered a salad from them last week, it was my first time ordering. Delicious, fresh and the deliver was fast.  The name suits them well, their hummus is out of this world delicious! I will be ordering again soon!
