    Time of Review:
    *April 26 @ 10:30am, brekkie for 1

Delectica is a cute little café with indoor and outdoor seating in Murray Hill.

    Service:
    * The service was very prompt.  I ordered at the registered, my drink was handed to me, and then my food was brought to my table.

    Food Quality/Selection:
    * There was a good selection of your typical breakfast foods, and I ordered the Israeli Breakfast - omelet or eggs, avocado, cucumber salad, cheese, and bread.  Every tasted very fresh, and delicious!  The avocados were perfectly ripe.

    Cost:
    * Everything was moderately priced for NYC - I think I spent about $10 for the breakfast and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Parking: It's NYC - need I say more?

This review is based solely on Delectica's bagels. I had the opportunity to buy a dozen bagels at $1 a piece, twice.  Although Delectica is not a bagelry, the place where they procure their bagels is top-notch. Bagels contain a nice crust with a chewy, dense center. The everything bagel is not overly covered with coating, which makes the bagel pleasantly balanced.

Delectica is located on Third Avenue where it straddles a business area and residential area. I have noticed that most of the seated customers appear to be residents of the area. There is about 5 to 6 small tables and, during the summer, chairs and tables are set up outside. Based on the bagels alone, I can recommend Delectica.

My new favorite lunch spot! I've walked by this place so many times but only today did I finally stop in, and now, I'm mad that I hadn't discovered the place earlier.

Fresh ingredients, and great for those who are looking for a healthy meal that doesn't make you feel disgusting. I ordered the health sandwich, and even though it's simply bread, veggies and tahini, it's very filling. 4 hours after eating the sandwich, I'm still stuffed and can't even fathom eating again. Unless we're talking about the soup, that is...

Because the butternut squash soup is absolutely fantastic. It's perfect for lactose intolerants like me because they use coconut milk instead of cream. I like it much better than Num Pang's butternut squash soup, as Delectica manages to strike a much better balance between the black pepper and the sweet butternut squash (Num Pang's was too heavy on the coconut and overly sweet). I could eat that soup for the rest of the winter and be perfectly satisfied.

This cafe looked authentic and french from the outside. So I got gwynn and I two bagels (we were really hungover). The bagels were DISGUSTING and I would have rather had Dunkin Donut's. Don't go here for Bagels.

This is such a gem in the other wise sub-par Murray Hill neighborhood (except for Portofino Sun and Waterfront Ale House and Nicky Enberg's apartment-- what's up!).

Oh how I wish there was a Delectica in my hood. I always eat here whenever I'm working. The oatmeal is such a steal with fresh berries and they put a SHIT TON of them on. But my favorites are the fresh roasted veggies, especially those beets. You really can't go wrong with those beets.

    Came here twice..

Oatmeal: $3 and like people said, pretty big and chocked full of fresh fruit! I wish the oatmeal used like the real big Quakers type of oats, not sure what they use. It was sort of plain but I needed something healthy. You get 3 choices of fruit. Good value for the money =]

Salad: I think you get to pick like 3 things with your salad? Haha I don't remember. I just remember it was fresh and the cheesy cauliflower was so good. =) I got the salmon salad - I don't even usually like salmon but this place does a good job with it!

This is an Israeli/American breakfast/coffee place in Murray Hill near where my in-laws live.  We had brunch with them here recently.  The food menu is pretty simple - bagels, assorted pastries, omelette sandwiches (available on challah) and the Israli Breakfast ($9.75), which my husband had, which had eggs, sliced avocado, sliced cheeses, Israeli salad, bread, and coffee or OJ.  I had an omelette sandwich with avocado and tomato on challah ($6.95), which was really good.   The challah was especially great.  The prices are very reasonable for NY but the portions are also quite small.   I was starving when we went here and my sandwich did not really fill me up, so I don't recommend this place if you're looking for a big meal.  Even the Israeli breakfast, which sounds like it should be huge from the description, was not that big.   It can also be tricky to get a seat here if you have a party of more than 2.   It was very crowded when we went around 10 am on a Saturday and the 4 of us had to wait until two tables left at the same time so we could push them together.   That said, I'm sure I will return.  I did really enjoy my food and this is definitely one of the better options in a neighborhood that doesn't have many good restaurants.

Granted that I have only been here once, maybe my rating isn't as accurate as it should be, however, Delectica was mediocre for me. I ordered a prosciutto parm sammie on ciabatta and asked it to be lightly toastly. Bad mistake on my part because the mozzarella wasn't even melted, boo. It wasn't wow in my mouth and was only partly satisfying because it didn't fill me up. My love affair for prosciutto was still yearning...

However, the staff seemed friendly and nice. One of them remembered my name when I picked up food for myself two days ago. Their oatmeal raisin cookies are fab! They almost melt in my mouth...they are definitely a must try and they are cheap--$2 for a yummy snack.

If you're looking to avoid spending a ton of dough at Starbucks on your way to work, or simply bypass the drudge of chain shopping in order to enjoy your morning pick-me-up, Delectica is an excellent spot for coffee, unique breakfast options, muffins, bagels and more!

They open relatively early for coffee and baked goods, while breakfast foods begin at 8pm.

For a large latte, large cappucino, low-fat strawberry muffin and a toasted bagel with jam, I forked over about $12. Not a total steal compared to the 'Bucks, but it's definitely nice to put your money into a local company. The service was quick and both coffees were delicious and made right!
