I have a run a picture of this one before, but it was just to contrast it to the REALLY old Irish workingmen's place down the street.
Time to see if Yelp has anything to say... Well, a lot of atmosphere, not everybody's favorite but some very favorable reviews too...

Review from Anna H.
I love exterior/interior decor of the restaurant very cozy and welcoming. It was not packed when me and my date arrived. The hostess seated us in a cramped two seater and our server kept coming back to our table to see if we were ready to order.
My date got the Grilled Steak on Whole Wheat and I got the La Royale Burger with french fries. I actually preferred my date's steak sandwich over my burger because it was too crumbly and a little bland. I had to eat the burger layer by layer because its a bit embarrassing when you are on a date and the burger is falling apart.
Definitely will come back to try the Brunch menu =) -

Brinkley's Station is an awesome little after work bar adjacent to Bloomingdale's in a landmark building on the Upper East Side.
While Brinkley's Station appears to be a bar for the gentlemen, women, don't be shy, when I was there, there were as many women as men. And, as I mentioned, it is right next door to Bloomingdale's. So yes, Brinkley's is great for after work AND AFTER SHOPPING! If not a beer, grab a cocktail!
THE FOOD IS GREAT! I absolutely loved my Eggplant and Chickpea Burger. The appetizers were delish, and people were stealing my fries left and right--well, both technically from the left.
So, loosen your tie, sample a flight, and then order the right beer and not just a beer--or an awesome cocktail! CHEERS! -

Came to Brinkley's after a shopping excursion for dinner and a couple of beers.
Appetizer: cheese board
The cheese board at Brinkley's was pretty decent. There's no choices, 3 different cheeses listed on the menu are what you get. It also includes some warm, honey smothered walnuts and some small pieces of bread. The cheese was solid, but a bus boy dropped the cheese off and didn't tell us which was which. Murray's has spoiled me on cheese, so I can't say it was amazing, but again, pretty solid.
Entree: veggie burger with sweet potato fries
Being a vegetarian can be a pain sometimes. I'm often scared to order a veggie burger, because, too often, they are frozen, mass produced patties microwaved up. Not so at Brinkley's. This was a fantastic house made veggie patty. In fact, it was one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. You have a choice between regular and sweet potato fries. I opted for the sweet potato fries and they were excellent, as was the dipping sauce.
Beer: several
Brinkley's also has a pretty damn good beer selection, focused on local New York breweries. -

This meal could have been a disaster (some problem in the kitchen meant we waited 45 minutes to get our burgers) but the staff here is exceptional. We got free drinks while we waited and the burgers were perfect. -

Came here for Brunch with some girl friends, and the food was disappointing overall. Brunch options were small and limited, but they do offer their lunch menu during "brunch" as well.
The menu has a creative selection of Bloody Marys, but if you're not a drinker, you're out of luck. Not being in the mood to consume any more alcohol after an exhausting weekend, my friend and I asked for a non-alcoholic beverage menu. Unfortunately, the only options were iced coffee, juices from the bar such as pineapple, orange, cranberry (none were freshly squeezed) and fountain soda..
Food: We shared the Grassfed Burger, Huevos Rancheros and a Cheese plate. I
was excited about the Huevos Rancheros from all the hype and pictures on Yelp, but it was mediocre and slightly bland. The meat on the burger was not bad - Juicy but a bit burnt. The flavor was underwhelming and nothing special. The only interesting thing on the menu was probably the Harpersfield Cheese that's been soaked in Ommegang Beer.
I don't recommend coming here for the food. I can imagine a good happy hour vibe during the weekdays. Skip the food- come only if you're looking for a spacious place to grab drinks with friends in midtown.Comment from Matthew W. of Brinkley's Station 4/29/2013Thanks for the feedback, we value your opinion and appreciate your business. $4 for a seltzer water is bad enough but when I give the bartender $20 she should give me back $16 and let me decide how much to tip, not give me back $15 (with 5 singles i might add- obviously a ploy to get me to give her even more money). If you go here, make sure to count your change. -

I am always on a quest for a great veggie burger (I'm a carnivore but enjoy a veggie meal when it's really good). The eggplant chickpea burger was delicious. Super satisfying, filling, and without the overpowering oat/rice/grain combo you often find in veggie burgers. The tahini sauce was more like a tahini mayo but was excellent as well. As were the sweet potato fries -- dusted with brown sugar for a bit of indulgence.
Big bloody mary selection and they were all excellent -- try the one with Hendricks and cucumber.
The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was that the service was incredibly slow and a bit discombobulated.Comment from Matthew W. of Brinkley's Station 4/15/2013HI Allison, Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed your food, and I More » -

Came here for dinner, not drinks, although their cocktail menu looked awesome and I like the happy hour vibe here.
For food, I had the burrata appetizer and lobster club sandwich. Both were delicious, but especially the burrata (see pic). Totally worth coming back here for any meal.
