Dear Neighbor,

Morningside Heights is under extreme pressure from large scale, non-contextual, luxury development.

Due to recent property sales by Jewish Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary to private developers, four large scale buildings are due for construction between 120th Street and 122nd Street. This means years of constant noise and dust, and additional pressure on neighborhood resources.

The newly-formed Morningside Heights Community Coalition met on June 20th to discuss strategies and share information regarding the effects and impacts of new large-scale developments in Morningside Heights. The meeting received over 200 people, which led to the beginning of rezoning talks with the City planning commission

I urge the community to build on the momentum garnered by the last meeting by showing support in numbers at this month's meeting on:

Monday, September 19th
at 7:00pm
at The Church of Corpus Christi
529 West 121st Street

If you can't attend the meeting, you can still get involved in protecting the neighborhood by:

1. Signing the petition: http://bit.ly/1PwP1Wj
2. Signing the pictition (a social media petition): http://bit.ly/1UywDBq
3. Like and post on the Morningside Heights Community Coalitionfacebook page.
4. Spreading the word- tell your friends and family!

I hope to see you next Monday.

Very Truly Yours,

Daniel J. O'Donnell
