Dining on the sedate side on the UWS: Isabella's

People looked very relaxed and seemed to be enjoying their food quite a bit at this Isabella's on the Upper West Side ( are there other Isabella's in Manhattan?)

Well, looks can be deceiving but my hunch here is that it probably gets pretty good marks...Ha! here one of the complaints is that the place can get too busy!! Otherwise sounds pretty good

I trĂed the cobb salad. It was good And reasonable for the price, if you take into account this a really nice place, And the service is pleassant.  I want to come back to try the brunch :)

Went the other day and tried their pasta with herbs and tomato. It was so good!

I've had brunch here 3 times. This place is always packed.  Wonder why, it must be the lack of good places on Upper West Side. Sigh..
The GOOD: They offer you a complimentary glass of champagne, OJ or a variety of champagne cocktails.
The BAD: I had the seafood salad, what was i thinking to order that in the first place? But, hey, it's on the menu, so why shouldn't I??
I took only one bite, tasted the scallop; it was so fishy that my taste buds revolted and my stomach declared emergency state. YIKES!
Otherwise, the waitress, even though obviously overwhelmed, was nice, sweet and patient.  They replaced my seafood salad with Isabella's Chopped Salad. Equally unimpressive (in fact below mediocre) and I think they forgot the feta cheese. Either that, or it was so chopped I couldn't even taste it. This place is seriously overrated.  Don't believe me? Try it for yourself..

Good, all American food. The chef started us with a little amuse-bouche: aspargus soup. Yum!

I would skip on the margherita flatbread and opt for the calamari instead! Not that it was bad, but the calamari was very flavorful and crispy. Also enjoyed the crabcake sandwich, the warm brownie sundae, and cappuccino ice cream.

I came here for a light dinner after a baby shower. It was FANTASTIC.  The person who nixed the seafood salad must have eaten somewhere else!  It was delicious!

    Here's the rundown and review:

    1)  Summer Fennel Seafood Salad - awesome!  fish was cooked perfectly..even the shrimp were done to perfection.  I could have (and probably should have) licked the plate clean.  Still thinking about it.  I ordered the appetizer portion so that I could order a flatbread, too.  Perfect size.

    2) Prosciutto Flatbread - thanks god!  How many times do you order this and the prosciutto is as thin as..well..I can't think of anything so thin that it may as well not even be there. This prosciutto was sliced perfectly and covered every millimeter of the flatbread.  So tasty and not too salty.  Loved it!

    3) Classic Lasagna - my friend had this so I didn't try it.  I couldn't try it. He devoured the whole thing!  He said it was amazing.  My friend is a really picky eater and complains over prices NONSTOP!!  I was AMAZED that he had zero complaints!

All in all it was $21 a person plus tip.

The brunch menu looks great so I'm going here tomorrow with two friends in town from L.A. and a friend in town from Fort Lauderdale.  I'll post that review tomorrow :)

The atmosphire was excellent and the service was also perfect. Their home baked ginger bread with strawberry butter was unforgetable. Soo tasty! But after that i asked "the burger" which was way too salty:( however the size the vegetables and the bun were all fresh and good but the meat was so salty. Anyway it is worth to go there for brunch.

Came here for Sunday brunch, and it was super packed. Nice atmosphere, good service. I imagine the patio must be a super awesome place to hang out during the summer. Be prepared to wait 10-20 minutes for a table though!

Food is pretty decent, and what's awesome is the free drink that comes with your meal. However if you want a free mimosa/bellini/anything with alcohol, you can't order it until 12pm. Sad face.

The bathrooms are probably the smallest things I have ever seen, despite the decent size of the whole restaurant.

The coolest thing though is that we saw Debra Messing (Will & Grace, Smash) walk in with her rumoured boyfriend. That just totally made my day!

This restaurant is the perfect UWS Brunch spot. The outdoor seating is great.

Prices are reasonable given the location, I had the Breakfast Burrito and it was very tasty. They gave me french fries with it for some weird reason though? You get one hot and one cold beverage with your entree, which is great. Unfortunately there is no alcohol on Sundays before 12:00 noon. So plan accordingly.

I'd love to give this a perfect 5 stars but our waitress/waiter (it got changed half way through) was terrible. Other than that, everything was great and I would definitely go back more than once.
