Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Dallas Police Department and their families. The senseless attack on officers has regrettably become another tragic example of how we need to look out for each other on the street and in quarters these days.

Be sure to watch the latest video from the Fort McMurray wildfire where Fire Chief Darby Allen tells us of the stress his firefighters faced; deciding what could be saved and what couldn't, as well as some losing their own homes. We added our material on dealing with stress as a help for firefighters everywhere.

It's a stressful world out there on the street and especially on social media. Unplug if you have to, if it helps you catch your breath and rest your mind. Stay connected with the ones in the rig and with your families to be the support they need and to find support for yourself.

Pride and Ownership: When I Grow Up, I Want to Be a Police Officer

$subtitles.get($x)Today, those serving as police officers see more sticks and stones than ever before, and some of the stones kill! Yes, both professions are extremely dangerous and those who raised their hands and took an oath to protect and serve knew it when they did. But what police officers are going through today, well, I’m not so sure I could do it. Read More from Fire EMS Blogs
