The Best Firefighter Calendars for 2017
Each year, firefighters around the World get together to publish firefighter calendars. One thing can be said about these firefighters…they do a great job of taking care of themselves and should be commended for it. More than that, they are doing a great benefit to the fire service by supporting others through charity.
One of the calendars to close up shop this year is the America’s Female Fire Fighters Calendar. They were always a pleasure to bump into at trade shows and it is sad to see them go.
There are typically more available than what shows up on this list due to brand new calendars or those who take a year off. I do my best to find them all. The easiest way to make sure your calendar is included in the list is to make sure I know about it!
Hunks & Ladders
I didn’t know about this calendar when I put this article together…so I will add it here unranked. It has been around since 1987. Through the calendar, firefighter combat challenges, and concerts, they support three charities. The calendar began in Dayton, Ohio and is comprised mostly of Firefighters from Ohio.
17. Firefighters Without borders
FC Note: I included this calendar because much like all of the others, I appreciate the cause. However, at the time of publishing I hadn’t seen enough of the calendar yet. However, I have since seen the photos from this calendar and can tell you it definitly would have been ranked higher!!!
We are dedicated to providing equipment, training and support for fire service agencies in need. We focus on sustainable support through strategic planning, onsite training of emergency services providers, members of the community, school children and families and ongoing support. Firefighters Without Borders looks beyond the immediate need, looking at long term, multi-staged projects if necessary, to ensure long term safety in the community. We are grateful to each and every one of them for making the Firefighter Calendar Campaign a reality.
Our first year, the 2014 Firefighter Calendar, raised over $100,000 and we are thrilled to report our 2015 Calendar raised over $250,000. The success of this fundraiser is imperative for us to save lives. We are indebted to our local heroes who have given so freely of their time and energy to this project. The Burn Fund provides continuing education for doctors and nurses in burn care and treatment, along with funding public awareness campaigns on burn prevention and safety and sending children to burn camp on a yearly basis. Our goal is to make a stay in the Burn Unit as short and as comfortable as possible. All funds raised in the province stay in the province for the purpose of fulfilling our mandate of burn care and treatment to the citizens of Saskatchewan.
As Fire Fighters, we know all too well how burn injuries change lives. The scars, both physical and mental, last a lifetime. It is our goal to do all we can to reduce the pain and suffering of those who fall victim to burn injuries as well as preventing these types of accidents through public education.
