The kiosk was designed to resemble an authentic ERS box, and is made out of medical grade plastic with wheels attached for easy maneuvering into hospital rooms for children who are unable to leave their beds. There is a television with a PlayStation 4 gaming system on either side of the kiosk, so that two children can play on separate systems when the kiosk is placed between them.
The Lil’ Bravest Inc. was founded to improve the quality of life for children who are hospitalized or being treated for childhood diseases. Their goal is to put a smile on the faces of kids who are going through a very difficult time. They believe that these kids are the true heroes and the funds raised go directly to improving their quality of life. !['“Today we’re celebrating your achievement, but tomorrow and for many years to come, you’ll be the ones out on the streets making a difference, caring for the sick and injured, showing compassion to a family member or friend of your patient, and then after you’ve done your job to very best of your ability, you’ll head on the next call. Not many people can say they save lives for a living – but now, you can. I know that when it’s your turn to act, you will respond quickly, you’ll fulfill your oath and you too will demonstrate why FDNY is known as the best emergency medical service in the world. As FDNY EMTs, each of you is absolutely critical to the success of our Department, and you represent the very best this city has to offer.” – FDNY First Deputy Commissioner Robert Turner to today’s FDNY EMS Academy graduates.
