Two Maryland firefighter were shot, one fatally, while responding to a medical call, while the body of Fairfax County (VA) Firefighter Nicole Mittendorff was found, prompting an investigation into allegations of cyberbullying related to her death. Memphis Fire Lieutenant Rodney Eddins died on the fireground, and hundreds died in a massive earthquake in Ecuador.
