OPINION: KREGER'S LAW- 'THE REALITY OF UNPREDICTABILITY" ( OR, DONALD TRUMP'S IMPEACHMENT)
TRUMP, ABOVE " I COULD SHOOT PEOPLE ON FIFTH AVENUE IN BROAD DAYLIGHT AND IT WOULDN'T CHANGE MY STANDING IN THE POLLS"
I believe at the time of the American Revolution, there was a song, popular amongst the rebelling Americans, called "The World Turned Upside Down."
Well, my proposal here is less drastic than that in a way, -- it is not a totally new idea, in terms of asserting just how unpredictable Life can be..
I mean, who would have thought say even a year ago that at this point a leading GOP Conservative would be making a Big Deal Public Statement to the effect that, "If Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination, I am so determined to see him lose that I would vote for Bernie Sanders instead!"
Above: Trump says now he will boycott GOP Debate on Fox News: More of the "Reality of Unpredictability"....
I mean, like, wow, are all sorts of people flipping out.
Not, maybe, the large number of people who say they like Trump-- in fact, Trump's popularity seems to be growing all the time, to the point where he makes statements to the effect that he could shoot people on Fifth Avenue in NYC in broad daylight and he'd still be "leading in the polls."
I guess the results of the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries are going to change our whole perspective on this ...
I mean, Ted Cruz could still win in Iowa, or Hillary Clinton, and in the eyes of many it would be like, ' we have returned to sanity."
that is, we would be headed back to a world where the familiar expectations were being more fulfilled and the BIG APPLE CART WAS NOT BEING OVERTURNED SO DRAMATICALLY.
I can just offer one example of how "what everybody knows( or expects)" turns out to be wrong -- ( besides the phenomenon of ulcers)-
IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME: Found after years of private grief and misery for millions, always believed by 'ALL RESPECTABLE SCIENTISTS' to be 1) Something "PSYCHOSOMATIC, 2) Some weird virus, 3) Something as strange and as alien as a disease that maybe would have to be treatd with acupuncture and hypnosis or other radically non traditional forms of medicine.
THEN, Doctors in California find that MOST IBS is a simple infection of the bowel, where "bad bacteria" move in and take over, and can be cured by the administration of an OLD, RELATIVELY INEXPENSIVE ANTIBIOTIC THAT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR AGES.
LOOK YOU, this does not seem to be the case for EVERY form of IBS, but for the majority of them..
( I noted ulcers before. That was another case of 'THE WORLD BEING TURNED UPSIDE DOWN,"-- Everyone "knew" that ulcers were caused by stress or having " an ulcer personality type" ( like having a "heart attack personality type -" ( what is it, 'a type B personality') or just a matter of not being able to eat certain foods, aking to being lactose intolerant
(and oh yes, lactose intolerance: a whole new world has opened up there, as with the world of gluten free products...)
MY POINT HERE is that NOBODY CAN SAY FOR SURE HOW HIS 'TRUMP PHENOMENON' WILL WORK OUT.
I will leave you with two quite possible scenarios ( barring a "dark horse" appearing who would change the picture even more than H. Ross Perot)'
1) Trump gets elected AND THEN AFTER OH MAYBE SIX MONTHS OF POWER, HIS ENEMIES DECIDE TO IMPEACH HIM...
2) Facing this kind of discontent, TRUMP SIMPLY FEELS MIFFED AND THAT HE HAS NOTHING MORE TO PROVE AND THEN JUST RESIGNS AS PRESIDENT.
Now tell me, why are these prognostications so 'IMPOSSIBLE" , based on what we have already seen?
Or some other radical change ( God forbid Trump is elected and actually gets us into World War Three).
It is just like what science fiction movies have suggested, that yes, there is an asteroid coming that is going to collide with earth and destroy life on our planet as we know it...
Well, there you have it, I may be no Heisenberg but there is the nub of what I would call Kreger's Law: yes, unpredicatbility in the world is as just as likely as predictabilty...
AND ALL PUNDITS ( INCLUDING ME IN THIS CASE), BEWARE!!!
