I'll be in Calgary for the PTSD911: An Evening of Hope event this Feb 5th and 6th. If any of my medic, fire or police brothers and sisters in Calgary would like a custom portrait done while I'm there send me an email at dansunphotoart@gmail.com and we can discuss the details.
I'm really looking forward to this event, some of my larger prints will be displayed and I've donated a signed copy of my art book to the silent auction. Here's a link for more information on the event h...

Mobile ER
Why do we want people to know what our job is really like? Why do we get so upset when someone calls us an ambulance driver? Is it really that important for the public to know what we really do? I think the public is lucky not to know. If someone thinks I’m just an ambulance driver I will tell them that being an ambulance driver is the most rewarding and exciting profession you could image…and just leave it at that.
Have a safe week everyone

I was recently in Houston and stopped at the NASA museum. Here's a shot of the cockpit in the space shuttle.
Here's a cover I did for Caitlyn Armistead's book Crossing the Line. It's about the relationship between two medics working in the trenches of EMS. Caitlyn, an EMT herself, sent me an excerpt and it's pretty juicy. I've already pre-order my own copy. Lets support our sister and buy her book. Congratulations Caitlyn, can't wait to read your novel.

The Bolton brothers.
There's a lot of tradition and family in the fire service. I love creating portraits like this. I've done several multi generation firefighter and EMS portraits. If you have similar photos I would be able to create an image like this for you. Just message me or email me at dansunphotoart@gmail.com
Have a good weekend everyone....

Here's a project I'm really excited about. Habitat for Humanity Regina has asked me and a few other artists to create artwork on actual home doors. These doors will be displayed at high traffic locations throughout Regina and then the doors will be auctioned at a Gala to raise money for the construction of a local Habitat Home. Here's the art-door that I'll be sending them, thanks to Triple J Decals and Signs in Leduc for prepping and transferring my work onto the door.
The Alternate Exit
Not many people get to see the damage a 12 guage shotgun can do to a human head. Police, EMS, fire, military and the coroner are the only ones I can think of...and of course the families that find them. I guess there are the crazy people who do this to others but this isn’t about those murderers. These patients rarely even make it to the ER for the doctors and nurses to treat unless they’re still alive and that’s even scarier.
I work in a small community wi...

I love when my clients send me images like this. I was commissioned to create an art piece for a woman who recently lost her dog Ebony. Her family sent me an image of the 2 of them and I created an original digital painting for them. They had it printed on canvas and gave it to her as a Christmas gift. This was her reaction...it hits me right in the feels!! I love it.
On February 5th I'll be attending PTSD911: AN EVENING OF HOPE in Calgary, Alberta. This is a 4 hour event with leading speakers in the field of mental health awareness for emergency workers and the military. I'll have a display of my original artworks shown here and I'm donating a hand signed copy of my art book Portraits of an Emergency for the silent auction event. For more information follow this link http://invisiblewounds.ca/#. I hope to see you there.
