Sergeant Mulham and Police Officer Makaryan of the 61 Precinct responded to an apartment on East 14th Street in Brooklyn where @[304603755728:274:New York City Fire Department (FDNY)] Medical Technicians Bermudez and Lapre were helping a woman who was in active labor. The officers along with the EMT workers helped the woman onto a stretcher and began to make their way to the ambulance.
Realizing that the birth of the baby was imminent, Sergeant Mulham told the EMT’s that she was a graduate nurse and asked if they needed any assistance in the ambulance. The two medical technicians asked the sergeant to accompany them on their way to Coney Island Hospital. They travelled only a few blocks in the ambulance when it was necessary to pull over and EMT Lapre and Sergeant Mulham successfully delivered the healthy baby boy. The new mom and baby were then transported to the hospital in good health.
Join us in saying congratulations to the mother and good job to all involved in the delivery.'](https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-0/p118x90/12508678_952710644805718_5258193974881377255_n.jpg?oh=d6272eaf40dfce11822620ed81b9e43e&oe=570198EB)
