    On Thursday May 12, Firefighter Erik Wiener was reunited with Arif Wedderburn, a young man he rescued from a fire in Brooklyn twenty years earlier.  The special reunion, which included Mr. Wedderburn’s family, was held at the quarters of Engine Company 214 and Ladder Company 111 in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

    On Thursday, May 5th, Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro unveiled the 2016 National EMS Week Poster. The theme for this year’s poster is “Called to Care,” and features Paramedic Carlos Muller of Station 15 in the Bronx and EMT Shaun Alexander of Station 58 in Brooklyn.

    On Friday, May 13, 2016, FDNY employees celebrating milestones in their careers were honored at FDNY Headquarters. More than 200 men and women from nearly every bureau in the Department were recognized for reaching 45, 40, 35, 30, 25 and 20 years of service to the city.
