The LAFD Historical Society was fortunate to have its 1937#AmericanLaFrance engine recently restored by Bodie Stroud Industries of#SunValley. This Triple combination engine was the first closed-cab rig the LAFD ever purchased. It was assigned to then-Fire Station 67. It has been completely restored inside and out. It runs thanks to the work of Historical Society volunteers, and will soon be returned to the #LAFD Fire Museum in Hollywood for display.
This project is to be featured in the season premiere of "#AmericanRestoration," airing on basic cable and satellite TV Friday, January 1, 2016 at 2100 hours on History. ^ES

A fire in vegetation alongside the southbound Glendale Freeway quickly ignited the large attic of an adjacent church in #GlassellPark in July. Smoke alarms saved lives this morning in #HighlandPark.
The 4:26AM fire started in a back bedroom on the first floor. An unattended candle ignited clothes and the situation quickly became life threatening.
Smoke alarms woke up the occupants who were all able to escape without significant injuries (one adult male transported in fair condition).
