Ed Allgood Fine and dandy but if this is an actual call, then this is totally wrong. Again if this is a real actual call this child has NO Buisness being there. If staged then I see no problem. I hope everyone can keep an open mind and see what I'm saying and understand.......yes?

Have you responded to an injured Hoverboard rider? Some of the ‪#‎HoverboardFail‬ videos made us gasp and cringe in pain.
Riders, using the hashtag #hoverboardfail, have reported fractures, concussions and fires.

Wayne Elsbett In a small city, you can get hands on with an overall variety of different types of fire call outs, as opposed to large city where you can get stuck in only doing one type of fire call position for many years.

This old FDNY video is pretty neat:
One of the incidents featured was an explosion that killed a police officer and an arsonist. It went to five-alarms and occurred on September 11, 1951.

Michael Roberson Wonderful footage. There used to not be many old firefighters, the "leather-lung reputation they had caused a lot of cancer. I started ten years or so after the wide spread use of SCBA'S but still rode "tailboard". Strategy and tactics have also changed emensly. We also had the greatest respect for volunteers, they would do the same stuff we did, for free. Kudos!

Does your department wear vests?
Crews will wear them for protection when they double as paramedics.

Eric Jones Are we seriously debating who should be protecting yourself? If is an odd topic of Fire & EMS wearing vests however if we're going to allow that to stand between pride and protection I believe were missing the point. We all want to be safe, not to depend on others. End of conversation.

Michael Roberson Where's the secondary means of egress, hose lines and assisting personnel. If they were on the vent crew, where is the support, roof ladder etc?

TJ Hardiman If it were me, and I needed to get down, I would have jumped to the lower roof. Then very carefully hung off the lower roof and dropped to the ground. Mind you I would not have been on or put anyone on that roof to begin with.
