Tallaght crews responded to reports of a roof collapse in the Clondalkin area this afternoon.
On arrival they found that a section of roof on a five story apartment block had been blown off as a result of ‪#‎StormFrank‬.
Luckily the apartment in question was unoccupied. There were no injuries from the falling roof.

Ian William O' Connor I'd say the heating bills will be through the roof trying to keep that place warm 😕

Earlier we used our Halmatro hydraulic rescue equipment for something slightly different.
‪#‎StormFrank‬ had caused a tree on the Finglas road to split in half vertically down its trunk.
The tree was unstable in the winds and caused a danger to pedestrians and to passing traffic.

St Stephen's night is a great time to go out, just remember unplug everything before you go out, candles out, and have a plan to get home safe. ‪#‎HappyChristmas‬ pics: some of our calls in the last 48 hrs
One less desirable element of emergency service work is having to work over important family occasions and Christmas is no different.
We would like to acknowledge and thank B,D and A watches who all worked at some stage over Christmas Day.
We would also like to thank their families who adapt their celebrations to facilitate their invaluable work.

Last day for 2 of D Watch's finest. Dermot Hughes is retiring after 30 years service & our no.1 badge Noel Hosback is finishing after 42 years with DFB. It's been a pleasure to work with these gentlemen and we not only wish them the best but thank them for their time with us. ðŸ‘‹

Around 1745 yesterday we received a 999 call to respond to an RTC on the off-ramp at Junction 5 Northbound on the M50.
We responded with a Fire Engine from Finglas, Emergency Rescue Tender from Phibsboro and Ambulance from Blanchardstown.
It was a two vehicle RTC with 3 persons involved. Only 1 person required hospital treatment for precautionary spinal concerns.

Dublin Fire Brigade updated their cover photo.
Last night crews from 2 stations attended a building fire on Saint Catherine's Lane. The 1st 999 call at 2011 reported smoke issuing and 3 fire appliances and 1 turntable ladder were sent to the scene. Our turntable ladder was used to deliver water from above and after some protracted firefighting the incident was closed at 2352. Thanks to Elaine McCahill, John McNally & Seb Kaczorowski for photos.
