During such times of current senseless violence being demonstrated across this great nation of ours, we as EMS providers should consciously remind ourselves, our sirens are the first auditory representation of salvation for the survivors immediately following a terrorist act. The sound of a siren is an immediate auditory symbolic representation of hope and survival in the midst of tragedy - that no matter what evil is being acted upon the innocent, the best of our society will care and provide comfort for those in need. Be safe out there my brothers and sisters.

Michelle Blahak That's cool. I always tense up when I hear sirens-I think I'll look at it differently...

The intent of this cartoon is to make you laugh - nothing more.
To hell with political correctness. Otherwise I would be relegating myself to censorship imposed by a society too sensitive to laugh at itself.

Our prayers for the victims of the Paris terrorist tragedies. May we also keep in our thoughts and prayers those french EMS, fire, and police responders who have had to confront these horrific life changing events. EMS is the light of hope, but this flame of hope can burn us slowly none the less over the years in trying to make sense of such senseless madness. Stay safe and keep a constant vigilance - for sadly such soft targets may only be the beginning of a trend to terrorize the innocent

I Am Not An Ambulance Driver Thanks Robin. I am lucky my art can express my pain as words lack what I am able to express in words
Sue Newberry God Bless all those angels facing such horrible senseless acts. May God be with all the ems, police, fire, and good Samaritans taking care of the Paris folks. Our prayers to all countries, as we need to pray pray pray.

Chris Elliott This cartoon is actually hanging in my classroom. Because we all know how likely it is to happen in Mississippi.

Let us remind ourselves to, whenever possible, secure ourselves while in transit with a patient in the back. We do the same for our patients. We deserve the same vigilance

Derek Swann Yes and when you retire all the aches and pains come to a head, your knees are shot from the amount of time you spent on them, lifting patients, you get arthritis from the amount of times you get soaked whilst dealing with patients, your wrists hurt, ya back hurts. Basically ya body is tired from all the shift work you've done. Good luck in retirement to all those that make it. Lol
Fran Donnelly Sr. 2005, was in same situation doing pt.care. seat belt from that point on. It off the bus.now

In memory of Colorado 30 year veteran paramedic Rick Hartley who tragically died last evening in a traffic accident while attending a patient in the back of an ambulance. Rest in peace brother.

4 die in Colorado Springs today from a psycho shooter. Last night I worked a shift which was wayyyyyy to strangely quiet for a night before Halloween (before the shooting). Crews at AMR in Colorado Springs told me in the paramedic lounge at at a hospital we transported to earlier in the wee hours of the night, " it is way too quiet out there." Careful what you wish for. Damn! I hate when Murphy's law actually works. Be safe out there my brothers and sisters. I feel your pain.... and lack of sleep. God bless you... as certainly nobody else will. Cheers.

Warren Swaney I don't know if it's one of Murphy's Laws or not but the longer you go without turning a wheel the bigger the surprise you get at the end. Stay safe out there!

It may be Halloween, but don't be scared. You've seen enough naked people to know what fright is

Arizona dedicated its EMS Memorial today. Simple, but beautiful.
A humble depiction of our profession. Congratulations!
