Dear Friend,
I just wanted to let you know about two upcoming events in our area.  The first is a senior law day, including legal workshops focusing on end-of-life issues as well as an overview of Medicare and Medicaid.  The second event is a housing forum, with an emphasis on tenants' rights, rent increase exemptions, and the decisions of the Rent Guidelines Board. Monday, May 16th, 11am-2pm: Senior Law Day

Hosted by the Carter Burden Center for the Aging. Free legal and financial resources and information for seniors and their families.  Question Time is from 11am to 1pm, when participants can stop by the information tables and learn about legal and financial services in NYC. Workshop 1, from 1:15pm to 2pm, focuses on Powers of Attorney, Wills, Burial PLanning, Health Care Advanced Directives, and more. Workshop 2, from 2:15pm to 3pm offers an overview of Medicare and Medicaid, as well as a chance to ask questions of onsite legal experts.
