NYPD Smartphones Help Cops Apprehend Shooting Suspect
Officers assigned to the 30 Precinct in upper Manhattan arrested a man and recovered a loaded revolver early Sunday morning with the help of their NYPD smartphones. After being notified by detectives from the 7 Precinct that a known shooting suspect may be at a location within the 30 Precinct, photos and information on the suspect were broadcast over department smartphones to 30 Precinct officers in the field.

Eagle-Eyed Cops Rescue Hawk
Late Sunday morning members of the NYPD's Harbor Unit were on patrol in the vicinity of the Brooklyn Bridge when officers observed a distressed hawk in the water. The officers approached the bird under the Brooklyn Bridge and saw that it was flapping its wings, but could not take flight. Always wagging his tail and happy to be at work, Clifford is a member of the NYPD Bomb Squad. He is an explosive detection canine and part of a team of officers that keep NYC safe. Clifford and his partners in the Bomb Squad respond to locations throughout the five boroughs to calls of suspicious packages, protect major NYC events and even help our law enforcement partners in other states secure their large scale events.

Brooklyn Cops Help Deliver Baby
Police Officers Brown and Cordero, assigned to the 78 Precinct, helped deliver a baby today near the intersection of Flatbush and Nostrand Avenues. The two officers were on their way to their foot posts when they were alerted by a passerby that there was a woman in labor on the sidewalk. Officer Brown ran across the street and began to help the 34-year-old woman who was in active labor.
