Four quick-acting NYPD police officers on Staten Island found a missing seven-year-old boy who has autism after he walked out of his home early Sunday morning. Last night we were privileged to once again protect New Yorkers and visitors as tens of thousands enjoyed the annual Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center.
As the holiday season begins, we also take a moment to remember and offer our thoughts and prayers to those killed, injured, and affected by the attacks in San Bernardino and Colorado Springs.

NYPD Smartphones Help Cops Apprehend Shooting Suspect
Officers assigned to the 30 Precinct in upper Manhattan arrested a man and recovered a loaded revolver early Sunday morning with the help of their NYPD smartphones. After being notified by detectives from the 7 Precinct that a known shooting suspect may be at a location within the 30 Precinct, photos and information on the suspect were broadcast over department smartphones to 30 Precinct officers in the field.
