Manhattan, NYI eat here for lunch on occasion. With a place with "burger" in its name, you'd expect them to have good burgers, which they do. Granted they aren't gourmet, but for fast food and the price, they are pretty good. For a 1/3 pound burger and fries/drink it's about $10.
It's not the fastest place though. The employees are either new or bored because they aren't working very fast at all. In New York, lunch is big business for places and speed is crucial. I've waited upwards of 15 minutes for order after paying. That's pretty ridiculous for a "fast food" place. Clearly the employees need to be trained on how to efficiently manage a burger grill and deep fryer (note: it's not that complicated).
The place is impeccably clean and with plenty of space between the tables, a nice change from a lot of places in Manhattan.
Bottom line, eat here if you want a good, cheap burger, but don't be in a rush. -

Flushing, NYThere was nothing wow about this place. I was curious to try this place, but the chili was gross and super thick, my milkshake was gross, and the fries were ok.
I was in there to sober up. That is all. Lots of seating. Only good thing! -

New York, NYWhile walking down 34th street, I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I saw the sign for FATBURGER. Maybe I worked myself up too much for the whole experience.....
The burger was burned around the edges and had absolutely no flavor
I waited 28 minutes for my burger. At 20 minutes, the burger and fries came out cold so I sent it back. Next order came 5-8 minutes later and was missing cheese inside of the burger. At that point I gave up.
Even though I ordered fat fries, they gave me skinny fries because I would have to wait an additional 3 minutes. After waiting 28 for a burned burger, I was done waiting so I took the skinny fries
Both of my food items were tasteless
The manager was pleasant and gave me a certificate for a free burger on my next visit. I'll give them one more try; if they still can't get it right, then I'm really done. -

Great service. The dude that brought over the food asked me if he could get me anything else...nice touch. The food was good, but nothing great. The fries were above average, but I was just not very excited about the meal. I physical location is very nice...flat screens, bar etc. But in the end the food has to be insanely good/exciting to make it in NYC. I'm afraid the food at this place is just meh. -

New York, NYI was pretty excited to try Fatburger after hearing it was a West Coast chain coming to NYC, but my burger was very disappointing. The meat was way overdone and almost charred on the edges, and the burger was overall lacking flavor. I got a medium sized one, which is about the size of a Shackburger at Shake Shack, but the $6 I paid was definitely not worth it.
My friend and I were still hungry after finishing our burgers, so we split an order of onion rings. They were so-so.
Another big complaint: the words on the menu above the counter are insanely small. I had to squint from my spot in line (only several feet in front of the counter) to see the prices and the list of extra add-ons.
On the plus side, since the restaurant is new, it's fairly clean and well-maintained. There's also a small sports bar area with a TV. -

New York, NYOnly 1 star because ZERO is not an option.
Where do I start?!
*The burger was 'crisp'; completely devoid of moisture OR flavor;
* I almost turned 50 waiting for the damn thing to be served;
* They short-changed my friend and I of one order of fries
(N.B. the jury is still out on whether that is a plus or a minus...)
* $26 for two 1/3lb burgers, 2 fries and 2 sodas?!?!)
Let's consider it a "once in a lifetime experience". -

New York, NYI haven't had a hearty burger in a while and never had a Fatburger one. Fatburger's burgers are for those depressing days when you've gotten yelled at and/or feel depressed. Then try to finish the XXXL burger with fries and a shake and then you'll really have no respect for yourself. But at least your arteries will close a little...and your stomach will be thanking you for making yourself feel better.
For those rainy days when you just don't care anymore. Do it. -

New York, NYThey shouldn't call themselves Fatburger, they should be call Leanburger! Because their beef is lean. No fat in it.
I have never heard of Fatburger till a friend point out they are very popular in the West Coast. Maybe they taste better in the West coast, but I was disappointed at the one in NYC. It was nothing special. The beef is lean and tough. I would rather choose McDonald's Angus burger overt this. -

So happy Fatburger is now in the city! We took a work field trip there for our Friday Lunch Club. I was pleased with my burger & the skinny fries were great. The lemonade is worth a mention as well, because it's not overly sweet (this always bothers me).
I generally am very plain when it comes to my burgers; I had only lettuce and tomato. Though the toppings weren't much to write home about, the beef was better tasting to me than Shake Shack (I honestly don't know why people flock to that place... the only thing I actually like there are their fries).
Everyone in our group was plenty satisfied, and the only negative comment was that the relish was a little on the sweet side. All in all, a decent fast food burger. -

Manhattan, NYWow! The burger was HUGE!! A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! I have eaten burgers all around NYC and this was a complete and epic FAIL! If Fatburger plans on being around for long they better get it together and fast!
The burger was a complete and utter mess. The bun had no integrity and was falling apart. It looked liked they just threw the toppings on there, most of which was lettuce. They gave what appeared to be a handful of lettuce, two lousy looking pickles and two paltry looking tomatos. The bacon was the best thing on the burger, it was cooked well but the egg was overcooked. To top it off the actual burger was COLD!! I got to experience this culinary delight (sarcasm) after a 10-15 minute wait to order (they only had 2 cashiers) and another 10-12 minute wait for my food.
As far as the taste of the actual burger, there was nothing special about it. It lacked flavor and tasted like any other assembly line burger. I have actually had better burgers from Burger King.
With all of the choices for burgers in NYC Fatburger does not stand a chance with me. They left me disappointed and unsatisfied. I guess its my fault for having some expectations. And so my search for great tasting burgers continues.-

Having inhaled these burgers in Vegas and California, I was pleased to find out that Fatburger's first NY location would be literally right down the street from me. Today, I tiptoed into their soft opening and acted like my usual nosey self - stuffing my face and asking every question imaginable :)
For those who've never been, the formula is the same here. Small, medium, or large burgers - anything bigger and you're getting stacked patties to try and fit your mouth around. Burgers are juicy and toppings generous, and they've got an assortment of toppings - guacamole, chili, jalapenos, or even a fried egg to toss in there.
Anthony, the manager, gave me the lay of the land. Competitive food/drink pricing (by the way, it's beer and wine only...for now), with the ultimate vision of patrons starting and/or ending their 3rd avenue benders right here. The staffers here are really friendly as well, with everyone busily working for the handful of people inside today. I'm sure they'll quickly iron out any kinks before people start coming in more regularly.
Even though they're right across the street from Bareburger, Fatburger is on the same side as the strip of bars; bars that for some reason people seem to think generalizes the entire Murray Hill neighborhood. I don't think these guys will be competing with Bareburger for the same clientele, but only time will tell I guess... -

I work only a few blocks away and I was really excited that one opened up so close by! Went here for lunch with a coworker. It has a nice bar right by the door with big screen TVs, and booths on the other side. It's nice that even though its a fast food place, the servers will bring you your food.
I had the fatburger combo meal. It comes with your choice of fries and a drink with the fatburger. They have a lot of options for the side- fat fries, skinny fries, onions rings. Some of the add ons for the burger is 99 cents each, but some add ons are free. Even without the add ons, it's already one tasty burger. The burger itself already comes with pickles, onions, tomatos, mustard, relish, and I think a couple more toppings. It was pretty packed during lunch but our food came after about 5 minutes.
The burger was juicy and all the ingredients were fresh, adding a nice crunch to the burger. I added cheese onto my burger and they have a couple options for that. I also added grilled onions (free add ons) but I wasn't really able to taste it all that much. The skinny fries were great. A good crunch on the outside and soft and potato-y in the middle. The serving was bigger than I expected and it was a great lunch.
