Bareburger

Yes, another burger place and another one in Murray Hill too

I am going to avoid burger places for some time after this one, --unless of course I find one that is really superlative

Well, this place seems to have gotten the best reviews of all the burger places so far, with, of course, the exception of the Upper West Side Shake Shack which has a constant crowd problem

It serves bison burgers and ostrich burgers and is pricey

I don't "love" Bareburger, but I really, really, REALLY like it. I thought the burgers were delicious, great service and just a good, casual place to meet up with a friend or two for lunch/dinner.

I've been on a habanero kick, so I had the Habanero burger (yum!) and split fries with a friend, and it was definitely enough for me. Our waitress made the side order seem small, but really, if you're two people and you each get a burger, split the side (I promise, it'll be enough! We were both full by the end of the meal.)

Dreams come true.. I spent 29$ for a burger menu... Well not really a dream, more like a nightmare.
But to be honest it was pretty damn good.
Had the western burger with bison meat and some onion rings.
    Juicy and tasteful!

We came here as a group of 8 on Thursday night, around 11pm. We were very disappointed with the customer service we received. All of us felt like the staff (yes, all of them) were having a bad day and they took it out on us. Our orders weren't complicated or out of the norm, yet they made us feel like we were asking for free food.

I normally go to the Greenwich location, which is great, and this was my first time at this location. Food was great, but maybe the service isn't worth coming back.

Despite the amount of sleep I get, I feel like I'm always tired.  I realized I hadn't been maintaining my iron intake.  Time for some real red meat!!

Bareburger got my energy level right back up and in the most delicious way.  I went to school in Colorado where bison and organic food was never a frisbee throws away.  And the food is definitely different.  I got chills as the nutrients revitalized me down my neck to my toes.  Drooling thinking about it.

However, I know there are those out there are not swayed by the hormone-free, grass-fed, farm-raised aspect.  This includes my boyfriend who is convinced the whole organic movement is a scam (albeit, he's never been to a farm and is lacking some fundamental understanding of food processing).  So while I raved about the burger I had for lunch, I nixed mentioning anything about the organic aspect.

Nonethless!  When he went with me, he was equally impressed!  Which is definitely not always the case.  We started with a large of fry and onion ring combo, which had a surprising amount of flavor.  Enjoyed the sauces too.  Even the ketchup, which I usually don't do.  I think it had cumin in it.  He had a lamb burger.

Service was on point as well.  Overall a successful afternoon.

Great healthy menu with a large meat selection - ostrich, elk etc. Also a selection for low carb lovers - wrapped in lettuce leaves.
Portions are a little on the small side.
My only quibble is the service can be a bit slow so don't go there if you are extremely hungry!

    YUM!

I am not one of those people who will only eat organic because it's "so good for you blah blah blah...." I eat what tastes good, and Bareburger falls into that category. Came here with a friend who is in an all organic phase, so I indulged him, and was really happy I did.

My cheeseburger was, pure & simply, amazing. But also, kind of small. The older couple sitting at the table right next to us (and I do mean, right next to, the dining area is quite small and a little cramped) remarked that I seemed to be missing about 1/3 of my burger.

I was also a fan of their lemonade & french fries, but wasn't very impressed with their onion rings. I like more of a crunch then the panko crumbs are able to provide.

Additionally, their milkshakes are to die for. I had the strawberry (I know, how 5th grade of me) but it was just SO good!

They lose a star for such close eating quarters and being pretty expensive, afterall, a cheeseburger is just a cheeseburger!

These burgers come at a premium, but boy are they good!

I love that they use organic, fresh ingredients. They have more exotic types of meat to choose from, including bison, ostrich, elk, and boar. I've tried a few, but while it's fun to try new meats, I honestly think plain old beef is the best. I usually get the original bareburger with beef. I ask for it medium, and it comes out soft and dripping with juices. Swoon. Also love the special sauce! Fries are also great and there's so many different sauces to choose from. I'm particularly a fan of the curry ketchup.

I don't go here that often because I find it hard to spend that much money on burgers and fries (unless it's shake shack), but whenever I do, the food is sooo good.

Every time I go to Bareburger I expect to like it more, but it always fails to live up to the expectation.

On my most recent visit, I shared the pickled beet salad, which was too dry. I prefer a thicker dressing and roasted beets.

I tried the Big Blue burger with ostrich meat. The meat was tasty and interesting, but in my opinion, not all that different tasting from regular beef. The burger came with bacon, mushrooms, onions, bacon marmalade and smokehouse sauce. I wasn't a huge fan of the smokehouse sauce.

I've also tried the Maui Waui burger, the California burger, fries and onion rings. Nothing has blown my mind. I dearly miss Good Stuff Eatery in D.C. Still haven't found my favorite burger here in NY.

I work in the area and ordered a MEDIUM-RARE burger online. I went to pick it up, when they said it would be ready. Waited 10 more minutes for my order and received a WELL DONE burger. I'll be going to GCS Shake Shack as soon as it opens...

I heard about Bareburger through Groupon and decided to try. I ditched work in the early afternoon and treated myself.

I had a regular beef burger, didn't want to get fancy.  Moist, filling, absolutely delicious. The fries were crispy and salted to perfection.

Quick service especially since everything is made to order.  Servers are nice and attentive. The decor is dark and interesting. Lots of conversation pieces on the walls and tables. Definitely will be back!

We were 7 total and they were able to accommodate us on a busy Friday night.  Overall the burgers were pretty good.

We had all different variations from the ostrich burger to beef.   We also had some zucchini sticks and onion rings with some sweet potato croqs.

Very casual atmosphere but the service was a bit slow and in attentive to a simple request we had as well as slower in taking our orders.   Granted we weren't in a rush, but it is still nice to have someone check in periodically to see if we need anything.

Overall, it was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

This is a very solid burger place for when you may crave a premium burger.

I decided to do take-out and it was my first time here and I found out that you customize your burger.  I decided to have a medium rare beef burger (there was bison, boar, etc also) on top of brioche bread (there was also whole grain).  I also ordered a side of onion rings.

The burger and onion rings tasted great!  The option to have the burger be prepared medium rare, kept it juicy and tender.  The onion rings had great seasoning and came with my choice of sauce.

The only gripe I have is that the price/product ratio is a bit off.  The price of the onion rings was steep for the amount I got.  Other than that, I would recommend this burger place.

I got a bison burger here (extremely lean for you health fanatics) with a whole wheat roll, and some avocado and other healthy goodies too, and my 'cheat' meal turned out to actually be incredibly healthy and tasty. Unfortunately, they have pint size beer mugs and that kinda ruined what was turning out to be a really healthy meal (cmon im sorry I craved... pint sized beer mugs).

The bison is a bit more expensive but its so lean and tasty and organic its definitely worth it. The burgers are on the small side and you have to order fries separate so thats kind of a downer and thats why I give 3 stars but all in all the quality of ingredients and the large beer mugs makes this place worth it.

The union rings are absolutely delightful. I ordered a roadhouse with bison sans the bacon and I thought it was a pretty good. The basket of fries, a milkshake and a pretty good burger left me satisfied.

Next time I think I'll go for the ostrich. I like that this place allows you to pick from some exotic protein.

The service is fast and pleasant. No reason not to come back!

I agree with what another yelper stated about lunch-it's too crazy here! We waited a good 40min before our burgers came out. The top of the bun was a bit cold and the waters were always lukewarm.

I got the CA burger to represent my roots-it's a normal cheeseburger with avocado. It was decent but I wouldn't come back here again, not with so many other burger options in the city.

If you're looking for a twist on a traditional burger, then you should stop into Bareburger.  Ostrich (myfav!), bison, bean, quinoa (really good!!), turkey, chicken, wild bore.  The list goes on!  All organic, pesticide-free ingredients.  Have a burger in one of their suggested combos, create your own, or add the meat to a salad.  Fries and onion rings are a safe bet, but I happen to really like their coleslaw too.  They also have a nice selection of local beer brews.

Great place for those carnivores with veggie/vegan friends, since there is something for everyone on the menu.   I just found out they serve brunch now too, but I haven't tried it yet.

I heard about Bareburger through some folks so I decided to meet one of my friends there for lunch. Boy was I pleased! The menu seems extravagant but once you make your way through it, you're in for a treat! I had the Big Blue burger with bison meat, bacon, caramelized onions, and bleu cheese on a gluten free bun. We started with some spicy pickles for an appetizer. YUMMY! Great for those who are on a budget also! Service was quick and friendly. It took us a while to make out way through the menu bc it is, again, ginormous, but the waitstaff was very helpful in helping us narrow down our choices. Substitutions also were not a problem at all.

Yum... The stuff here is pretty darn good.  Our server wasn't very helpful (she was a non meat eating person--Vegan) as she couldn't recommend much, but she was very pleasant nonetheless.  Had sweet potato fries and they were amazing... Truly enjoyed the burger I got.  Atmosphere was very comfortable as well.  Overall great experience and the options were terrific too.

Burgers (including fries) are good. Check out the bison burger with fries in a whole meat bread. However, don't expect to get a good service. They don't seem to really care about their clients. I have been there both to eat there or to go and always have the same feeling.
