We live in a world where real life heroism can be crazy but also about all we have....
All FF's are very special people, whether in NYC or Singapore-- it doesn't matter if they have problems just like anybody else-- even if they are close minded in some ways ( have prejudices--as compared to whom-- are usually homophobic to some extent which makes sense when you think of how they work and what is necessary for it, as well as resistant to lowering of standards in any way so that for instance more women can be "included")
But remember this: FF's are real Angels of Mercy in the crunch, they risk their lives to save people regardless of their religion or skin color or sexual orientation, and, of such great importance in a City like New York, they are not in it for the money in this greedist and money mad of all places.
Of course there are firefighter bad apples-- when my father was an investigative photographer for the State of New York, he documented some FF's stealing from a warehouse where they were putting out a fire of suspicious origin. These things happen.
I said FF's were heroes, I didn't say they were Superhuman.
