The Big House would like to thank the 101pct of the ‪#‎NYPD‬. They went above the call for their duties last night and assisted the FDNY stretch 19 lengths (950ft) of hose to the top floor of the Redfern Projects. Their actions helped get the line in position to extinguish the fire and ultimately led to the sucessful removal of a trapped occupant who was transported to area hospital with smoke inhalation by EMS. Thank you NYPD for being there for us and the City of New York. Once again, the workers who are the backbone of this City; working together. (Would be nice if we still had the Door position on the Engines but I guess they know better than us!)

Looking for any available US Marine on Long Island!
A retired FDNY member from TL-44, son passed away on January 8th. He was 29 years old. He was a U.S. Marine who served 2 tours in Iraq, and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service.
The problem is that he did not die LODD, I don't know the circumstances behind his death, so his parents did not call the Marine corp. because they didn't think he could have a military funeral or wake.
