News Station Report: Radio Shack May Face Bankruptcy

Well, this is a shame...

I have always liked Radio Shack ( the stores I have been to always had great customer service), even if the popular notion is that they are out of date or out of step with the times or something..

I hope they stay solvent....it's funny, I tried to call a Radio Shack store here today about a camera feature function ( I usually get stuck reading manuals and have to ask somebody else a question--people at Radio Shack always oblige)-- and was told the line was out of service.  So I called another of their stores and got the same message...

I was out near their store today but I didn't look to see if they were open or ask the question ( I had already figured it out on my own...funny there, too, a friend in California emailed me another solution to the problem later...he's the one who sent me this story, too, as it happens).

Radio Shack Mulls Bankruptcy: Report

CNN — Radio Shack could be filing for bankruptcy as soon as next month.

The Wall Street Journal reports the struggling electronics retailer is considering that option, although so far the company has not responded to the report.

Meanwhile, Radio Shack has until Thursday to come up with $100 dollars in cash and available credit to prevent its creditors from pulling its long-term financing with the company.

As of January 2015, Radio Shack has more than 5,000 stores.
