Stay Safe During Snowstorm

FDNY Members Visit with Wounded Warriors
The FDNY wants to ensure you stay safe during the January 2015 snowstorm.
Please follow these tips and share with your friends and family:
  • Only call 911 for emergencies. For all non-emergencies, call 311.
  • Make sure your smoke and CO alarms are installed and operational.
  • Prepare in case of a blackout. Have flashlights ready and do not use candles.
  • Do not use generators indoors. Ensure exhaust fumes cannot enter any enclosed space.
  • Don't use your stove or range to heat your home.
  • Be cautious when shoveling. Do not over-exert yourself.
  • Shovel your sidewalks and fire hydrants. Clear a 3-foot area around your hydrant.
  • Please check on your elderly and at-risk neighbors.
