Thoroughly enjoyed lunch at this Murray Hill Italian restaurant with a colleague from the UK

Ravioli entrée, grilled rainbow trout entrée, two small well-made salads, bottle of Chianti,  and two espressos was $115 including tax and tip. All tasty and fresh ingredients.

    Will return.

Tip: during nicer weather, sit near the open front looking over 30th Street.

I only had a Caesar Salad and an Iced tea. Salad was great, served with warm bread and calamata olives. I would not consider this a destination restaurant, however for convenience it works well.
    Very reasonable prices.

You have GOT to be kidding me. What is this place? How do they stay open? How could you possibly say it was good? I could keep going.....
We have been to a string of bad restaurants lately (which is why we should just stick to the ones we know are good instead of trying new things.....) this was near my work and we only went for convenience. We liked the menu , thought it looked nice from the outside....but then......we walk in.

No music. We were like, are we in a library?? We felt like we had to be very quiet. It was VERY odd. The restaurant itself is nice, pretty and kind of cool decor...then our waitress comes, what a train wreck. She doesn't introduce herself, she just walks up and goes, "ready"? Um no....so I asked about the specials, we order a beer. place our orders. She forgets the beer. Then our food comes. She put in the wrong order for me, and gave my boyfriend fries (he wanted a salad with his sandwich)
I had to wait for the right order (Im in a hurry now to get to work) it gets there and it's AWFUL. Worst plate of food i've had in Manhattan.

Gnocchi ....so gross! it is frozen, chewy, and it's in a chicken gravy?? The prosciutto tasted old and hard, the peas were over cooked, it literally tasted like hospital food. It reminds me of that. Or high school cafeteria.

The sandwich was gross, the cheese is those cheap grocery store Kraft slices, not melted, the fries (again hospital food fries) even the pickles were somehow bad.
I would give this negative stars. The food, the service, everything was just sooooooooo bad.

DONT GO HERE, so sad because this place has the potential (based on the looks and location of the restaurant- not the food and service) to be a very good spot. Unfortunately whoever owns it either doesn't care about the place, or doesnt know what their doing.

I went out to dinner with my friend's friends. It was around Nine thirty when we went and the place was empty but they hesitated to seat us. Once we sat, it must have been the worst table possibly to put us at because I was FREEZING. The waiter we had was good though. They didn't have the soup I wanted but he was quick to suggest an off menu soup- I was pleased about that. They gave us a round of pitted olives and bread. I really liked the olives. And everyone was  a big fan of the bread.
We got our meals fairly quickly.
    Average.
I mean for a seven dollar bowl of soup I was sort of expecting four star quality. But no.
What I did like was they refilled the water in our glasses very quickly. And with ice!! So that pleased me massively.

They were pushing about getting us out which was annoying due to the fact they weren't busy at all and it was empty.

I won't be going out of my way to come back.
But they do have a check in coupon!

    I really like this place.

Stumbled upon it while looking for a different restaurant an decided to just give it a try.  The food was really good.  I tried the salmon and my girl friend had the rigatoni.  My fish was perfect, firm yet flaky with a hard crust and the sauce was unbelievable.  My girl enjoyed her food as well but couldn't finish the whole plate, ended up taking the rest home.

All in all its a very nice spot.  Did get a bit noisy when a large group came in but that's not the restaurants fault

    Two for the mojito..
    One for the Lizard...
    That's it....

I stopped in here one Saturday afternoon because i was working and the company bought me lunch, and on the whole it was very disappointing.  the Service was slow and disorganized.

The food quality was bordering on BAD (!) especially for the price.

I had a "Cesar" salad that was iceburg and some nondescript dressing that seemed to be the only one in the place.  It resurfaced in the guise of  'honey mustard', 'ranch' and as the (very 80s) sauce-garnish-dribbles on the plates (this with the confetti of finely chopped carrots and parsley made me want to peg my pant-cuffs and dance like an idiot)

The paninni was really just a tepid turkey sandwich on a hoagie roll

    The three stars? Ah HA!

They DO have one of the best mojito I've had here (really!) not too sweet - strong - sour and minty in the perfect combo.

AND...and there is a lizard who lives in one of the trees and has a fondness for tepid turkey.  i think this may be the only wild lizard in the city - so that's worth a star.  hurry up and go see him before he goes the way of the mastodon (frozen and dead)

Okay food (gnocchi was dry with a generic white sauce) thoroughly spoiled by obnoxious, incompetent service. Sample conversation:

Me: "Could I see the wine list?"
Server: "We have red wine and white wine."
    Me: "...okay, what's the red?"
Server: "We have [multiple red wine grapes]."
Me: "Could you help me pick one, I like..."
Server (interrupting): "I have no idea. I could lie to you, but I don't want to."

Calling someone over to help was evidently not an option. One of the few times I really wanted to leave no tip.

Walking by their sidewalk tables, we asked patrons how the food was.  "Excellent!"  they replied. And they were right!  Buon Appetit!

Only went here for a breakfast business meeting but was impressed overall. A little on the pricey side. I ordered the steel cut oatmeal and the waiter was very accommodating in adding cinnamon and honey on the side. The person I was meeting ordered a veggie omelette with whole wheat toast and it looked really good as well. Though the place was empty, the service was great and we got plenty of free coffee refills. They even gave me the wifi password so I was able to get some work done for an extra hour after my meeting ended!

This is an adorable restaurant. Lovely staff (Emma the darling bartender!) and nice space. The gnocchi was great- peas were crisp and perfect and the tiramisu (house made!) was incredible. I stuck with the chianti and a friend went to three different wines and we were all happy. We will definitely go back

I stopped in here to meet a friend on a Thursday evening after work. It was pretty empty but the place was clean and had a romantic feel to it. The bathrooms were clean. We decided not to stay and eat because there were no happy hour specials. LOLOL. Sorry a sista is on a budget. I would return to try the food on a pay day because the prices looked a bit high. Until next time for a regular review of the food. hee hee

This place has a decent interior except for the huge tv screen with couches. The bar is full of people who seem to be visiting NY but overall, given the lack of decent places in the Madison & 30s district it's not to be scoffed at. A tad overpriced but the dessert is between ok and good depending on the day. Their thin crust pizza is also supposed to be pretty good. If you're young and attractive watch out, the owner might come hit on you. The rest of the staff is pleasant though.

The food is fine, but the real reason to go to Zana is the bartender.  Emilia is a treasure! Fantastic service and a great place for dinner and drinks after work.
