Review from Annie T.
Half the place was empty when we sat down to eat, which could be good or bad. Almost "clubish" atmosphere here but the music was not overwhelming. I really like their cheap drinking menu. Enjoyed the Bahama Mama which to my surprise came in a big tall class.
Our orders
-From their signature rolls: the Manhattan with shrimp tempura topped with spicy tuna, scallion and tobiko. it was good but tasted a little flat.
-eel avocado: my favorite
-yellowtail: very fresh
Anticipating a return to sample more from the menu. -

Philadelphia, PAThis is the closest sushi near my apartment that's pretty decent. I've been here twice on a weekend and had no problem getting seated for dinner without a reservation.
I always start off my meal with the Kani Salad which is so refreshing and light. It's essentially a 50:50 ratio of mixed greens to crab meat along with other goodies that elevate this salad from boring to party-in-my-mouth fun. The tempura flakes gives the salad that crunchy component. Sprinkle in the toasted sesame seeds which add a depth of nuttiness. Each bite takes you through different dimensions of textures and flavors but the final destination leaves your taste buds singing in perfect harmony.
The sushi is good, but I'm a bit of a sushi snob so my standards are almost unachievable. I had the Alaskan roll (my go-to), Spicy Tuna roll and Spider Roll. My favorite of the three was the Spider Roll - the soft shell crab was crunchy/crispy and delicious. The other two were standard; however I could appreciate the ratio of rice to fish.
I also tried their Tofu Stir Fried Udon Noodles. Great portion size (had leftovers) and solid dish overall but I'm interested in trying the noodles in broth next time. -

I have a secret... come closer...a little closer....
Ready?
This place offers 6 dollar drinks! All drinks...6 bucks!...You don't believe me?... Yes, alcoholic drinks, Yes, decent size and yes strong drinks!
Michael and I were ready to get our dancing shoes, but before doing that we were looking for a place that fits our budget (for alcohol intake). I came here a few years ago with a bunch of girlfriends and remembered that this place offered drinks for 6 bucks! We decided to give it a shot! Glad we did!
We were greeted by the hostess and asked if we could just sit at the bar for drinks. After a friendly 'of course' we were asked 'what would you like?' by the bartender. Michael and I both aw the martini menu and I think we both got a little too excited. He got the lemon ball martini and I tried the pomegranate martini, we also shared a lychee martini afterwards. The drinks were made with a good amount of alcohol. (The dancing would of proved that, if you saw us dancing that night) The atmosphere is great, a pretty large space with beautiful lighting at the bar makes this place a girls night out or date place.
I have had the food here and it is always fresh and prepared quickly. I just think it is a bit pricey, but I guess it is Manhattan, what do i except...
Overall, 6 dollar drinks, I will be back for you
Count on it!! -

Scarsdale, NYSolid, reasonably priced lunch specials. The food was fine. The decor and vibe was generic Japanese. Worth a visit for a good deal on lunch. -

Ordered Take-Out from this on a Sunday afternoon while watching the NFC Conference game, ohhh-yeaaa.
Pineapple shrimp fried rice = pretty good.
Beef box = beef cooked too well and lacking flavor.
Fried pork dumplings = pretty good also.
Mochi ice cream = most likely the same ones from the store.
Quick delivery. -

Los Angeles, CAI was staying in the area and walked in for a quick bite. A very pleasant atmosphere. Food tasted fresh and tasteful. Service was great.
Definitely going back for more. -

New York, NYThis is in my mom's neighborhood so whenever I stay at her apartment I like to go here for sushi. It's probably just run of the mill good sushi but the best thing about going to this place is the BYOB policy.
I think the sushi is fresh and I have never been disappointed.
This is also a good place to bring groups as they have large tables in the back to accommodate. -

Manhattan, NYThis is my absolute favorite sushi place though. The decor inside is such a great touch. Must order the golden cheese wontons ($8 for 4)! They may or may not be on the menu, but they are fantastic!
This place is the best place to pregame. A long island iced tea for $5? You cannot go wrong here. Another favorite is the cucumber martini. Almost makes me feel healthier as I drink it? BYOB, but note there is a corking fee for the wine. And you can't bring a 30 rack in here. True story, I saw this happen. -

Manhattan, NYI had been looking for a sushi place to go to in the city... Pretty sure I finally found it. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and the spicy peanut chicken entree. The chicken was good but I was expecting it to actually be spicy... If you're looking for something spicy, this is not the dish for you.
I have ordered from here after having a good experience in the restaurant and once again the sushi rolls were good. I will definitely be getting food from here again. -

White Plains, NYI was really craving sushi, and Yasuda isn't something I can do every week, so I happened upon this place and gave it a try.
My 1-star rating is based solely on the food:
This place is really great, for non-Asians. In fact, I was the only Asian person there. So if you like sushi rolls with cute, crazy names, you've found your perfect place.
The sushi and sashimi were cold, tasteless and resembled supermarket fare.
This place is run by Chinese people, which breaks one of my biggest rules (no sushi restaurant unless it's run by the Japanese). But at least they were very pleasant, and I liked them a lot. So if you're an average sushi eater, but looking for decent service, then this place might be for you.
They also have other Asian fare like Thai, Japanese and Chinese (in the back of the menu). -

Manhattan, NY4 stars for the food.
3 stars for the service.
I've been to Nana twice, and both times, the food has been delicious. The sunrise roll is awesome. However, the sushi rolls themselves look REALLY small. It's also BYOB, but WITH a corking fee. A normal bottle of wine has a $6 fee (I think) and the large bottles have a $10 fee. The drinks there are pretty cheap though, from what I've seen on their drink menu. Most of the food menu is decently priced as well.
The service on the other hand.... is another story. The first time my friends and I went there, we had a reservation and were sat pretty quickly but then we just sat there for 10-15 minutes before anyone even came over to give us water or ask if we wanted to open our wine. The service throughout that entire night was really slow, especially when we were ready to order..we couldn't even find our water and we barely saw him the rest of the night.
The second time I went, was last night. We were there pretty early before our reservation (reservation was at 9) and the girl at the host table seemed pretty frazzled but I asked her if there was anything open anyways. She said no, so we just killed some time at the bar next door, hoping they'd have something ready for us when we returned. But when we went back at the time of our reservation, they had no tables and other people were clearly also waiting ahead of us. We waited for an annoyingly slow 30 minutes and were finally sat. From there, the service was actually pretty fast. Which made up for the wait in the beginning.
I'd go back for another sunrise roll though. -

For years people have been trying to convince me that Sushi is the most delicious food and that I was missing out because I don't really like fish. I can't even tell you how many people have tried to convince me to try sushi even though I rarely eat any seafood products, let alone raw fish.
I finally caved, and was taken to Nana Sushi for my first sushi experience. And I have to say, it wasn't that bad.
We sat the sushi bar and it was fun to watch the chefs at work making different rolls for all the patrons. It was interesting to see what they did and see if the rolls seemed like something a first-timer wouldnt be turned off by.
We started with some non-sushi dishes--something I would enjoy even if the sushi proved to be too much for me. We had the duck tortilla roll and the pork dumplings. Both were very good. The dumplings were small little bites that had a nice spicy kick in the end and the duck roll was juicy and the meat was tender. I enjoyed both of these dishes very much.
On to the scary part. We chose two rolls that seemed like they would be easy entries to the world of raw fish. The Honey Sandwich and the Sunrise.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Honey Sandwich. I did not taste anything like what I thought sushi would taste like. It was smooth, buttery, a little sweet...I cant believe I am saying that I actually LIKED raw fish. The Sunrise was not as good, but I still thought it wasn't bad. It came out steaming because it had salmon tempura inside, which threw me off a bit.
We decided to try a more adventurous roll after and settled with the black dragon, which has eel on top. This was a little much for a first dive into sushi, but I ate it and was not as put off as I thought it would be!
So, as a first time sushi eater, I was satisfied with Nana. I am sure if I loved sushi, this place would be a great go to. And who knows, maybe I will try sushi again!
The service was wonderful. They made recommendations, brought food out promptly and often refilled out water. -

Manhattan, NYThe fried rice and shrimp here is to die for. The best that I've ever had so far in NYC. Ever since I had it here, I haven't really felt like having fried rice anywhere else.
Also, I tried sushi for the first time here and I loveed it.
The green tea ice-cream was delicious as well. I was very suspicious at first(Yes!I'm a fussy eater) but Nana Sushi proved me wrong! :)
