I have never even heard of the Casablanca near Times Square, for Pete's sake, but I guess it is famous. (Had to get photo off the internet).
It gets..well, as you may fathomed, rave reviews....I assume this is a "top dollar" place

Redondo Beach, CAI was treated to a stay here and I was charmed. Stepping into the Casablanca really does make you feel as though you've walked into 1940s Morocco or Paris. It's a gorgeously appointed, beautifully maintained, lavish little treasure.
I've never stayed at a hotel where the staff introduced everyone at the front desk and left me a personalized thank-you note in my room. I've never stayed at a hotel where, when I called the concierge and asked for an extra blanket, it was there in 60 seconds. This place raises the bar to new heights in terms of customer service. It's gorgeous, and I really hope I'll have another chance to stay there in the future. -

San Francisco, CAThe location, service, and extras make this boutique hotel amazing. From check-in, to toiletries, to wine hour, to breakfast (all included), you feel taken care of. And then you walk out the door and you're steps from Times Squares, or a shot walk from Rockefeller Center.
The staff is excellent, the public transit is everywhere, and it's a great spot! -

Campbell, CAPerfectly clean rooms, great perks and customer service, and all right in the heart of Times Square!
I am very picky about hotel cleanliness and was not disappointed. Not a hair or piece of dust anywhere! :)
The staff was super friendly and very nice. They helped us figure out some great nighttime activities during our NY stay.
Toni's restaurant has the most amazing fried zucchini I've ever had! YUM!
Overall, one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! -

Le Raincy, FranceThis hotel has two major things going for it. 1) location, right in the heart of Times Square and 2) Its staff who will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
To be clear, this is not a five star hotel in and of itself. it's older, but clean and well maintained. It was comfortable and we had absolutely no issues with our standard room. It is not the Ritz Carlton and it does not try to be.
If you want a clean, comfortable boutique hotel right in the heart of things with a staff that will do their best to make your stay comfortable, look no further.
We stayed the week after New Years in 2013 and we want to thank to hotel and its staff for a great stay. We'll see you next time. -

Jamestown, NYI love this hotel! Stayed here many times for personal and business. Small boutique hotel, the staff is very friendly. Rick's cafe is a cozy inviting place. Nice and quiet, although you are in times square. The subway is conveniently within a block, easy to get uptown or downtown.
Next door is Tony's Di Napoli a great family style classic Italian restaurant! -

Charlottesville, VAPleasant little hotel 50 feet from Times Square. Very quiet. Helpful staff.
Easy subway access. Short walk to broadway plays. Easy walk to MoMA, Central Park, 5th Ave shopping. Reasonably priced. Room small but comfortable; no microwave or fridge. Will stay here again. -

San Francisco, CAWhat a wonderful little boutique hotel right in the middle of Times Square! Located on the corner of 43rd St and 7th Avenue, it's close enough to all the touristy Times Square nonsense without having it all forced on you. There's even a parking garage adjacent to the hotel, where the rates are very reasonable, at least by the Manhattan standards.
My friends visiting from California were staying at this hotel. They paid $300 a night, and they considered it a great value. It's true, you couldn't beat the location if you were a tourist in Manhattan. Me, I prefer to find a good Priceline deal on a hotel around Newark Airport and then drive into the City if I have to. $50/night for a room at the Newark Renaissance, anyone?
Still, during the day I spent more time at Casablanca than I did at my own hotel. And why not? The rooms here are decent size (again, by the Manhattan standards) and the bathrooms are beautifully appointed in the style of the 1950's. Casablanca also has some of the friendliest staff you will see anywhere, helpful without being pushy.
But would that keep me hanging around someone at some random hotel? Of course not! What kept me coming back again and again (and again and again) was their complimentary coffee/tea/pastries offerings all day long. I must have made myself at least 10 cappuccinos over the 2 days there. That espresso machine was awesome. From 5 to 7 pm, they offer complimentary wine and cheese. I don't drink wine, but there is nothing wrong with having a few dozen cubes of assorted cheeses. Did I mention that all of this was free? Well, I am sure my friends paid for it, but I didn't.
Next time I am in Times Square, I might just venture over to Casablanca for a quick coffee break. Just kidding! -

Los Angeles, CAWhen I tell you this is in the Heart of Times Square, believe me! You walk out of their lobby, turn right and voila...New York City!!
I loved staying at this oasis of a hotel, Casablanca. Great service and kind staff. The decor was fantastic; a great North African themed-boutique hotel.
The actual bed in our room needed a new mattress...but aside from that this hotel had great amenities. I was really fond of their tiled bathrooms.
But my all-time favorite feature was their Happy Hour! What a great way to unwind, catch-up with the world (newspaper reading, watching TV), write postcards, all while hanging out in their beautiful and spacious lounge area, called Rick's Cafe. They even have an outdoor courtyard attached. They provided wine, cheese, snacks, desserts and a very fancy espresso machine that makes the best cappuccinos in town!
New York is great but a little intimidating to this Valley Girl, so it was really comforting to discover this hotel.
I would return again.
Happy Travels! -

Los Angeles, CAWonderful hotel right in the middle of Times Square. We loved it. We felt like royalty from the moment we checked in. I would highly recommend this hotel to couples wanting to stay in Times Square to enjoy some theater, museums and shopping. Very close to the subway and all the theaters.
i would stay here any time I'm in NY. -

Minneapolis, MNStayed here again and it was as pleasant as my last time. The floors still slant enough to trigger my inner ear and get me a bit nauseated, but the staff, location, amenities and decor are truly wonderful, especially for the price!Listed in: Best Hotels1 Previous Review: Show all »

Ewa Beach, HIBEST Value in NYC!
I actually considered not posting a review in the selfish hope they would not be sooo BUSY and booked all the time (well, that is probably an exercise in futility). Yes, I love this NYC hotel.
When you consider the Location (Great). Walk out and you are in the middle of Times Sq. , Hard Rock across the street, Starbucks next door (even though they have great Free coffee all day on the 2nd floor lounge) , Walgreens diag across the street, Police station across the street. And I felt totally safe in this area for the 10 days stay.
The rooms are quiet, and after a long day in NYC (in the rain and cold) arriving at the 2nd floor lounge is like an oasis. With Wine and Champagne, Cheese and snacks (including Vegs). And they also have a Cappuccino / Latte machine. Many loved it, though I did not use it.
Yes, they have Orange juice and another juice , along with different kinds of coffee and teas. Pastries, fruits, snacks, hard boiled eggs, breads etc.
*My only complaint is , this is NYC ... so, where is the Bagels??? (in the 2nd floor lounge) No, none to be found. :) ... Even though there sister Hotel (Elysee Hotel) even had my favorite Cinnamon and Raisin bagels, and cream cheese (and they would toast them if you wanted) ... which by the way seemed to be a big hit (not only with me lol).
There is Free WiFi in the Hotel and Free Cable Internet connection in your room just in case WiFi is acting up. Which (strangely) in the 2nd floor lounge the WiFi is weak, if at all.
Service and Friendliness is already well documented. And is just another thing that makes this hotel better than the rest.
Yes, as others have said this is a older, smaller hotel ... But, it's clean and very well kept.
