Yes, another Irish pub style place...for a while they seemed to be fading away but many have hung on and new ones have opened up

Came here last night with two buddies to grab a bite to eat. The Eagles game was on so that was a plus. I've seen this place pop up on Yelp recently since it's a new business in the neighborhood. I usually don't like sports bars because they are quite possibly some of the most generic establishments in this country, but I wanted to try out this place because it was so close and I had never been to a PIg and Whistle.
The drink specials when we went there were $5 Sierra Nevadas and $26 dollar buckets of domestic bottles. Not the best deal ever but not bad. I ordered the Pig and Whistle sandwich, which is the pulled pork sandwich for which they are known. I must say, it was quite good. Very saucy. Maybe it's because the pork was dry and that's why they had to drown it in sauce? Either way, I liked it and will probably be back to eat it again.
I like how they turn up the volume loud enough that you can actually hear a football game.
The service was okay. Nothing special. The waitress could have smiled more. My friend was displeased with her demeanor. -

San Francisco, CALove this place! I have been here a few times this summer while in NYC.
I have been there for happy hour with a bunch of girls, which was great. They have a decent happy hour bar food menu and drink specials, which are all reasonably priced for NYC.
I have also been here a few times to watch football...great beer bucket deals during all college football and NFL games...I drink a lot of bud light while watching football, so this is perfect for me.
The wings are decent, and the salads are big and have quality ingredients, especially for "bar food".
Definitely a great place to do happy hour or watch football game.
Also everyone that works there is very chill/nice, no bitches/dbags which you come to expect almost everywhere in Murray Hill. -

New York, NYDo not go here! The owner of this bar is extremely rude!
My friends and I were a party of 3 so instead of taking up a large table, we kindly offered to sit at the bar in order to make room for larger parties during a busy football Sunday. The bar stools were closer to the tv which was playing our football game anyway. The TV had a sign on it that specifically said it was playing the titans steelers game.
After spending $50 on food and drinks, with 4 minutes left in the game the owner said he was going to change to another game on our tv. We, along with a few other people watching, kindly asked him to wait 10 more minutes so we could watch the rest but he blatantly disregarded us and said "it's my bar I can do what I want to". WOW how is that for customer service?!
These bars are a dime a dozen in Murray hill. With that attitude I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business in the next 6 months. I know we'll never go back. -

Manhattan, NYWhen this place first opened, I thought, "ANOTHER Pig 'n' Whistle!?" However, even though I'm sure this place is associated with the other P&Ws in the city, this one is on another level.
First of all, it's way nicer than the other P&Ws, and second of all, the food and drink menu tops all of the other P&Ws. I came here last night for the first time with the boy for a few drinks and we had a great time.
We sat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender, Kiran, who was so nice all night. We both ordered this drink called a Black Velvet, which is half cider, half Guinness. Kind of like a Black and Tan but with cider instead. And they have cider on tap! Yessss. We also ordered the margarita pizza and the Mac and jack cheese bites, which I was a huge fan of, being that I am obsessed with Mac and cheese. Both were yummy. Typical bar food, but it totally hit the spot.
Hopefully this place won't become a douchey 3rd avenue bar like the rest. I have high hopes for Pig N Whidtle -

New York, NYI think I like this place. I came in the middle of the day and I was nice and quit. I imagine the evenings get pretty boisterous. Nonetheless I was impressed with the ambiance, competent service and overall energy of the place.
The music is cool, the staff is nice and the drinks are satisfactory as well. Can't speak of the food but it looks delicious. The Tv"s around the bar makes for good football viewing.
I think I'll be back! -

Staten Island, NYIf you find yourself waiting for an extended period of time for a table at Blockheads, head over here. Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. Nice pub feel, but also a bit upscale. Slip into the corner booth and have a good time.
Oh, and might I recommend the Goose Island IPA? Served in a fancy glass. -

Manhattan, NYI used to come to Patrick Kavanagh's here, which was a below average Irish bar. This is a pleasant change, in my opinion. We stopped in here, and the renovations are very nice. The bar is super long, and it's very roomy inside.
Bartender and manager were VERY friendly (maybe too much so? I felt like I needed to stay instead of ditching after one drink.) I ate some nachos, which were very good.
They were also having karaoke on a Wednesday night at 10pm. -

New York, NYNot surprised to see negative review regarding owner/ manager of this place. Obnoxious Irish guy ordering people around, seemed like a dictator, and I'm not even talking about to his staff! Forced us to sit where we didn't want to. I also saw 2 elderly ladies come into the bar, have a look and walk out. Not for them. Then the manager runs out after them and literally drags them back in in desperation, sits them down. The 2 ladies looked so scared as if they are being held hostage. Most uncomfortable bar I have ever been in. -
