Enduro- Midtown East

Sorry my photo of this place is not better, it  gets much better reviews than I thought it would

Looked like very large Midtown restaurant and I thought it would just get so-so reviews but it does better than that

Had a burger with fries for dinner.  Burgers had all the toppings and condiments on it  which I liked.  Fries came with some cheddar mustard which was delicious.
Friendly staff but can be over-attentive.  Great food and ambience.

Price was very reasonable at $16.

I went when it first opened. The wait staff is very good. I ordered and appetizer which wasn't that good. I didn't even complain, but the waitress saw that it was subpar so she automatically took it off the bill! Which was a good thing because this place can be a little pricey.

No specials on the first day of the opening left a sour taste in my mouth. No happy hours at all?!? This neighborhood is riddled with specials - or at least meal specials so I don't think I'll go back since I can get a better value elsewhere.

But very good waitstaff, excellent ambiance and the wine is very good. Just a little too pricey for what you get.

Given all the hype, was very disappointed.  The space and ambiance are great.  Potential is certainly there.  The food however, is not.

We wanted to try a variety of the menu so we went with the pretzel bread, the wings, and the scallops to start, and the lobster, the salmon and the chicken caesar for lunch.

Everything was just ok.  The food was plated nicely.  But the flavor was lacking.  The wings were served whole (the wingette and the drumette together).  I found this to be rather obnoxious.  Who wants to sit there dissecting their wings in the middle of lunch?  The sauce it came with tasted like curry.  It didn't go well with the wings at all and felt almost forced (as if they were trying to be intentionally fancy when a classic sauce would have actually been much better).  The scallops were very good (probably the best part of the meal) and the pretzel bread was definitely disappointing.  Too much salt on the top, and the texture just wasn't amazing (i.e., they were not crispy on outside and chewy on inside).  Again, keeping with theme, it felt much more dressed up to look fancy than actually tasting good.

The lobster was grilled and it  was very good.  But it's lobster.  Not very difficult.  They brought out some type of tomato compote to go with it, but about 10 minutes after they served the lobster and after we had actually finished it.  The chicen caesar was also good.  Needed a bit more dressing.  The salmon was just ok.  Nothing to write home about.

The restaurant is certainly working out some kinks.  The sprinkler over our table was dripping a little bit.  The service needs some improvement (dishes were consistently dropped off to the wrong person at the table) and things generally took too long when asked for given the restaurant was not busy at all.

Finally, a pet peeve.  I cannot stand resturants that charge for soda refills.  It just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.  I'm spending hundreds of dollars on lunch; you can give me a soda refill without charging me 3 extra dollars.  Its pathetic.

Overall, the meal was ok and not worth the price.  I'll try it again in a month or two, but it did not live up to the hype.  For a similar meal, I'll stick with Hillstone which is only 2 blocks away.

So I randomly ate at this restaurant on their opening night. Sat at the bar. Was waited on by a great bartender (Sharon). Had the crab cake and then the lobster. Sides of bacon (sort of a bacon steak!) and fries. Everything was amazing. Plus, All-American, well-curated wine list.

Ended up taking the family (wife and boy) back the next day. Had the meatballs, salmon, grouper and burger.  All fantastic!

This place was sorely needed in mid-town east!

I had a decent experience at this restaurant.

The customer service was great; the ambiance was nice in the cavernous main room with a good hum of patrons.

My food was mediocre.  I had the grilled lobster.  It was-- well grilled lobster.  The lobster is prepared by de-shelling, grilling, then placing back in the shell.  However, parts of my lobster were still attached to the shell, also some parts were undercooked for my taste.   Also, there was some butter sauce under the shell in the plate, but I think the lobster itself should have been more buttered, or at least a side of butter sauce should have been provided.

Had some fries, which were nothing special.  I ordered a side of cauliflower, which never came.

For dessert, had the chocolate coffee creme-filled macarons which were simple and tasty.  Well done.  I tried my friend's cheesecake soft-serve-- was a bit eerie eating soft-serve that tasted just like cheesecake.  Innovative, I guess.  Not blown away by it, or anything else.

The bathroom was a a little unclean; the staff should be more attentive about keeping it clean.

There is a lot of space, so might be good for big parties.

I think if you work in the area, and your company is footing the bill, check it out.  Otherwise, save your green.

Friendly staff, good service, great food.

Had the seared tuna sandwich and my dining partner got the lobster roll. Both very good!

Will be back again for sure!

Delicious! Went for lunch with a friend and we can't wait to try the dinner and brunch menus. She really liked the Korean barbecue salad and I thought the seared tuna sandwich was very good (a tad messy but worth it). We also had the pretzel bread and it was prefect. Toasted yet soft in the middle. And the sauce that came with it was incredible. I wanted to bring a jar home with me. The restaurant itself is beautiful - minimalist and modern, yet comfortable and great for big groups. The service was top notch. And I really appreciated the yummy drinks that were made stronger (but tasty) than other places. And their wine list is all American! Definitely give it a try!!!

Beautiful new spot in Midtown East.  Exceptionally friendly staff and amazing food, with a hip downtown kind of vibe.  For only having been open for one day, the place seemed very well organized.  Had the veal meatballs, the short ribs, and the cheesecake ice cream.  All were exceptional.  As a child of the 80's, I loved the music that they play.  Flock of Seagulls to Bruce Springsteen.  The owner, Alan Rosen stopped by our table which I thought was really nice and offered us complimentary dessert.  It was a very nice touch and it seemed like he generally valued our opinions.

I'll be a regular here for sure.

What an amazing transformation of the Outback space and genius move in seeing the outdoor potential.  The service was exceptional and the environment friendly. Price point and menu was also very good for the neighborhood. Although, the ownership should consider adding some kid friendly menu items.

Update - The management added a childrens menu. 5 stars.

Upon walking up to the sliding doors leading to the bar, we were greeted by a hostess who sat us at one of the tables in the courtyard. It was a gorgeous evening and we were hoping to sit outside.
Our waitress and training waitress approached offering us either still or sparkling water which was also Left on the table for refills and they took our drink order. A nice liquor and cocktail selection to choose from.
We ordered two starters from the snack menu, pickled vegetables and the deviled eggs.  My wife ordered the crab and lobster salad and I had the bbq short rib.
Our starters arrived and looked great. Before we could finish the final deviled egg and pickled peppers, our main dishes arrived. Nothing bothers me more than my next course arriving before I finished the previous one and I HATE to say something. So I but my tongue. I continued eating my app and they placed my entree off to my left.  A few moments went by and I was ready to dig in.

All in all. The food was great, expensive for what it is, but really good food.  I just hope things get a bit more settled as they continue.

If you're looking for a relaxed dinner, check it out!

So I randomly took a stroll in the neighborhood last night and I came across this place. Decided to try it out. Sat at the bar first. Upon my second glass of wine a random guy (which whom im guessing was a manager) started yelling at the bartenders over some issue they were having. After that incident the bartender serving me had a Nasty attitude. Very unprofessional. Can't blame them after what they had just went through. Anyways I decided to eat dinner and told a friend to come meet me. When she came I was sat at a table which was very spacious and comfortable. Greeted with a warm smile and very friendly sever (Robbie). We were not to sure on what we wanted to eat but he guided us down the right path and was very knowledgable about the menu. He paired  just the right type of wine to go with our dishes also! First time seeing an all-American wine list, I was not disappointed. All in all the place has a warm vibe and I will definitely go back.

P.s Brussel sprouts with baconnnnn are killer!

After reading the chef use to work at a three star restaurant in Chi-Town, and I also work in the same building.  I decided to to try the place out.  I sat at the bar so I can't review being serve at a table.

    Service
    -  The ambiance is beautiful beautiful dark wood finish floors and on the ceiling.  A           modern look where you can see the kitchen, very impressive I must say.  From my experience they play 80's music at a good decibel not too loud where you can't talk with your company.
    -  Front of house was attentive when I first walked in.
    -  Bartender was attentive as well and knowledgeable about the food and wines.

    Food
    - The meat is anti-biotic and hormone free which is a nice plus.
    - The Rotisserie Chicken with Yokon Gold Potatoes (small potatoes).  For the look of the place and the price I expected better.  Not bland but needed more seasoning and needed to be a bit more moist.  I have tasted better.
    - Veal Meatballs in Marina Sauce tasted good but not great.  The sauce wasn't too overpowering to take away from the veal a nice balance.
    - Thick Cut Bacon this IMO needs to be worked on if they are going to compete with  the local steakhouse's that surround it, that serve the same dish.  This is an absolute favorite of mine when I go to a steakhouse.  The flavor was not as profound as found in Club A steakhouse, Wolfgangs, Ben and Jacks, etc.  It needed to be more well done maybe...
--  The Cheesecake Soft Ice cream with graham bars was to die far, I could have had a second helping easily really really good.  And I generally don't eat ice cream.

Overall I would go back here though and try different items on the menu.  I would bring my s/o here.  But front of house is better than the food at this point.  Welcome to the area!

Room is tasteful with wood beams, wood floor, and an open kitchen separated from the dining area by clear glass so you get an unobstructed view but none of the smoke from the kitchen. Service is exceptional. Water was refilled, plates were brought at just the right time. Our waitress was attentive but not hovering. Gazpacho was excellent with Watermelon and cucumber, Kale and Barley Salad with King Oyster Mushroom was superb. Salmon with Escarole, Olive and sun dried tomato was excellent but arrived medium instead of medium rare, a minor gripe. The escarole, olive, and sun dried tomatoes were all diced and were on both sides of the salmon. Halibut replaced striped bass. It was prepared simply with outstanding and perfectly prepared vegetables accompanying it. Decaf was just OK and the cheesecake and graham cracker soft ice cream was delicious but the cheesecake seemed to be on one side and the graham cracker on the other, rather than blended or swirled. Wines by the glass are American. Some dishes here are pricey but others are reasonable ($42 for a 2 pound lobster). Chef Nathan Huntington seems to have respect in the kitchen, with other chefs eagerly huddling around him eager to learn.  There are interesting posters/photos on the wall of the hall to the Boys and Girls rooms explaining the use of "Enduro" in manufacturing. Overall, a welcome addition to the NY dining scene!

Stopped in with coworkers for lunch- very impressed by decor. They are still doing some construction but spot is great. Wait staff very attentive, no wait for lunch in midtown (yet), and we were checked on by numerous staff throughout the meal. Group had salads and the veal meatball sandwich- everyone loved their meals! We'll be back...

What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood! We've been back twice already in a matter of days. The ambiance, decor and staff make for a truly memorable experience. And the all American cuisine... simply amazing. The anti-biotic and hormone free steak was sensational; like you remember steak to taste when you were a kid. Grilled salmon like no-other. Short ribs, delish! My daughter is on a gluten-free diet and the waiter was extremely knowledgeable to point us in the right direction for menu selections. Portions are extremely generous and sides are for sharing. Desserts, well we can't rave enough about the soft-serve cheesecake ice cream, truly unique and delicious. Enduro has a relaxed neighborhood feel; even outdoor seating. Owner Alan Rosen is extremely welcoming. He visits most every table to get first-hand feedback. Nice touch! The kitchen is on display through a glass wall. So be sure to take in the mesmerizing choreography.
