I usually go shopping with my boyfriend and this J.Crew is the only one where the women and men's sections are on the same floor!!! The one is soho separates the male and female stores. The one by Rockefeller center has the men's section on the second floor. I am not unreasonably lazy, but sometimes I am so i was pleasantly surprised by the set up of this location.
There are very friendly staff members and lots of available cash registers. As always, cute clothes. I adore their brightly colored chino shorts. -

Philadelphia, PAI saw a jacket online that I wanted to see in store. I had a hard time finding it within the store itself, and thus asked a sales associate. She quickly helped me find it and they didn't have my size in the color I originally wanted and helped me with calling the rockerfeller center to see if they had it available. But in the end, I just asked for a different size in the other color, and she went in the back to get it for me quite promptly. Overall she was very cordial/helpful despite having to juggle many other customers in the store and I then bought the jacket during their 25% sale. Even though most of the stuff at J Crew is a bit more expensive then I'd prefer, I gotta say A+ for the on floor associates in this store! -

Laytonsville, MDThis is the most amazing store ever.
The hot Asian guy who works there on the weekends is really really helpful, too. -

I'm not a J. Crew kind of gal at all, so this was my first time in a J. Crew.
After googling for a black patent belt, J Crew carries one. Turns out they actually had two styles to choose from, one of which was on sale! YAY!
As for the rest of the store, I can't justify spending $198 for a pair of round toe nude pumps that if I took my nail and ran it across it, it would scratch it up.
Nice displays and staff. -

Manhattan, NYI love J. Crew. This location is pretty good, the sale section used to be better, but now its located in an area that's makes browsing for good deals tough. Many times they do not have my size in whatever item I'm looking for...
The sales staff is hit or miss...i think they size you up to see if you are there for regular priced merchandise or sale and then treat you better if you are buying regular price. I find this irratating, because I buy from both sections, but usually find the customer service lacking. -

I love J.Crew and the feeling is mutual.

I love J.Crew. I only buy on sale.
This J.Crew location has the pleasure of being my most frequently visited J.Crew location as it's only 2 blocks from my office. I usually stop by after work to return bags of online purchases and check out the clearance section (the X% off sales that usually aren't online). The salespeople are pretty nice, helpful, and attentive. I've never experienced any frustration of stupidity incidents - and hope I never will. -

Manhattan, NYMy first apparel yelp review and it's a 1 star. Wish I could give it 0. Here is why:
1. Employees mostly help those who are carrying regular clothing items to start a room so they can drop their name for commission. If you're carrying sale things then kiss your luck goodbye for one of the employees to help you with your load.
2. Security guard does not say hello and goodbye to minorities. I hear "goodbye and have a nice day" when a white person walk through the door and nothing is said to me when I go through. Both of us have bags of merchandise so clearly either the security guards are racists or they're trained to not treat patrons equally.
3. INCONSISTENT PRICES. A friend goes in yesterday to buy 2 tops. One has buttons on the shoulders and one is a striped vintage cotton tank top. She told me they were both $10 each and that the cashier that rang her up told her the solid colored tank tops are also $10 each. My friend scored on savings so she told me to go take a look. I go the next day. I see the top with buttons on the shoulder. Sale price is $19.99. Huh? My friend got it for $10. I see the tank tops and the sign reads $14.50. Huh?? My friend got the tank top for $10. I grab the same exact striped tank top to the register thinking it would ring up at most $14.50 but it came up to be $29.50. What???!!!! HOW CAN THE SAME EXACT ITEM BE CHARGED SO DIFFERENTLY WITHIN 24 HOURS?????!!!! I told the cashier that the tank top was bought for $10 yesterday by my friend and the cashier girl said maybe it was online. No. It was not online, it was in-store, this very same store. I wasn't going to pay full price for an item that my friend clearly got it at a discounted price for so I left without getting that tank top. I asked my friend and she insisted that she got both tops for $10 each yesterday so either the cashier that rang my friend up was also a racist or the cashier was a ditz and let people buy their apparel for $10 each.
The all around poor ethics of this store and its staff is a big turnoff. Up yours, J. Screw! -

This store is WAY better than the one at Rockefellar but then again you're also contending with tourists whereas this area deals more with the folks who work around the area.
I wasn't intending to purchase violet cashmere gloves that fold in half that expose your fingers but it was on sale for $21! How could I not resist?
I actually came here looking for the double cloth coat since I've been eyeing it in the catalogs.
When I asked one of the sales associate, she actually knew what I was talking about whereas the Rockefellar staff had to look it up in the their computer system. She said it was an online catalog order only which was a disappointment considering how much it cost.
I love J. Crew coats and am willing to pay for their price since the one I currently have lasted 5 years and I only have to redo the lining which will be equally as expensive as buying a new one.
Oh well, this is my go to store when I ever want J. Crew merch.
