Aha-- when I got to this waiting room this afternoon I was the only person there ( usually a number of people there of course)--so I was able to get a photo!
Ever since I reached my late fifties, I have had a problem with my ears waxing up and getting hopelessly clogged about once a year.
My lifesaver here has been Dr. Dropkin up near Weill-Cornell, --I thought specialists like him were a thing of the past but he is still going strong despite getting on in years. I wish I had his stamina and something I enjoyed doing as much as he loves his work.
Just had my ears flushed out today. He told me I had only "pinhole" openings because of all the wax and that I would have started having a real problem fairly soon if I had not come in.
His waiting room is a charming, restful place that is so completely different to some of the clinics I have been to at Presbyterian Weill Cornell that it is laughable...
One of my friends in California has a serious hearing problem, and has his ears cleaned every three months. He says he needs all the hearing he can get.
Just read the posting of a friend of a friend on Facebook whose ear clogged up and of course tried using a Q-tip which made it worse and then hydrogen peroxide, which further aggravated the situation...I once tried some over the counter cure which this fellow's doctor urged him to use and it made my ear worse than ever...
