Oh, what is so rare as a June day in the Middle Section of Central Park...where bears (at least stone ones) lurk in the bushes, and the populace extends their lunch hour or decides to take the afternoon off and join all the tourists, many of whom, of course, are lost..
I have only seen one grouping of tourists who tend to have maps, and that is Germans ( a stereotype?)-- they like to know where they are marching next...sorry, I could not resist that one. ( And yes, I am part German myself so I feel I can make fun of my own heritage here).
Since I am also part Polish ( yes, like many Americans I can lay claim to a lot of disparate desperate immigrant forebears, many fleeing gambling debts and the disgrace they brought on their families and their regiments etc.-- Europeans used to love to run up big debts and then run to America, where they imagined instant prosperity and a new life would await them...and found just a new set of challenges ( even if they had no Native Americans to fight with)
Anyway , saga of Park-hopping will continue next weekend...have other fish to fry until then and will only be taking photos of what is near where I have to go...
