Chief 12 arrived on scene reporting fire through the roof of a single story building and assumed Newportville Command. Engine 82 using E12 arrived on scene and stretched a 1" 3/4 attack line to the interior. Engine 14 layed out to a nearby hydrant and their crew pulled a second line off Engine Co. 82 to the rear of the building. Command evacuated the building and all operations were completed from the exterior.

An attorney well known for his advocacy of aerial drones filed three lawsuits last Friday against the FAA challenging a directive issued in June that extends the government’s ban on the commercial use of drones and limits the use of video technology that allows the operator to see what the drone sees. One of the suits uses a firefighter safety argument to make the point that the FAA's plan is flawed.
