Early life
Rodriguez was born in Bryan, Texas, the son of Diane and Roy Rodriguez, who own a business.[1] His siblings are brothers Ray and Roy, Jr. and sister Raini Rodriguez (an actress herself).[2] He is of Mexican American descent.[3]Career
Rodriguez had not considered becoming an actor until around 2006, when his sister began acting. "I thought I'd be a National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) chef going to the moon", he said regarding this in an interview in 2010.[4]As of September 2009, Rodriguez plays the role of Manny Delgado in Modern Family, a sitcom produced by the ABC.[5] Rodriguez is a co-winner of the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series on two occasions (2011 and 2012), alongside the rest of the show's cast, and a nomination for the same award was garnered in 2010.[6]
Rodriguez has published a book titled Reel Life Lessons...So Far that was released in 2012.[7]
