Wake & Funeral Arrangements Announced For Fallen Boston Firefighters

Beacon Street Fire
Lt. Edward Walsh, 43, and firefighter Michael Kennedy, 33, both died in the fire at a Beacon Street brownstone Wednesday.
The Boston Fire Department tweeted Friday morning that funeral arrangements were being finalized with the families and that there will be “separate services on back to back days mid-week.”
According to Stanton Funeral Home, visiting hours for Lt. Walsh will be Tuesday, April 1 from 3-8 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Church at 212 Main St. Watertown. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church.
The wake for Firefighter Kennedy is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, April 2, from 2:30-8 p.m. at the P.E. Murray Funeral Home at 2000 Centre Street, in West Roxbury. Kennedy’s funeral will be held on Thursday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Holy Name at 1689 Centre Street in West Roxbury.
There’s no official word yet on a cause of the fire.

Boston’s building inspector, David Johnson, visited the scene Friday. He believes the brownstone can be saved.
“We’re going to plan on doing some shoring and button up the roof,” Johnson told WBZ-TV.
