On Google Maps, Crimea is still a part of Ukraine, though
Vladimir Putin is urging the mapping behemoth to redraw Russia's borders
to include the Black Sea peninsula. But whatever Google does or does
not do, it’s sure to be politically and culturally fraught. As Pacific Standard editor John Gravois told Brooke in an interview from 2010, Google is regularly embroiled in cartographic controversy.
