September 11 Lawsuit Against American Airlines is Settled-- from WNYC

Major 9/11 Lawsuit vs. American Airlines Settled

Friday, December 13, 2013

A major lawsuit from the 9/11 terrorist attacks has been settled.

The New York Times is reporting that American Airlines agreed to pay between 400 and 500 million dollars to Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald.

Over 650 Cantor employees died when terrorists crashed an American Airlines plane into the top floors of the The World Trade Center's North Tower.

The firm later accused the airline of negligence for failing to prevent the hijacking and sued American for loss of business and property. American argued that it could not have foreseen the attack and that it had following federal safety rules.
