TRANSIT COPS PATROLLING SUBWAYS ARREST MAN WITH KNIFE THREATENING PASSENGERS
NYPD Transit officers arrested a man with a box cutter who was threatening subway riders at the Hoyt Street station in Brooklyn Wednesday evening. Police Officers Ozuk and Geniale responded to a 911 call of a man with a knife on the 2 and 3 platform where they were met by passengers who pointed out the man to the cops. The officers immediately engage the man in conversation while he was waving a box cutter from side to side. After a brief dialogue with man, officers were able to have him drop the knife and place him under arrest. The 30-year-old man was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Prayers for Police Officer David Hofer
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Euless Police Department, Texas, and family of Officer David Hofer, who was shot and killed in the line of duty yesterday while responding to a 911 call of shots fired. Officer Hofer was a former NYPD police officer, joining the Finest in 2008 and leaving for the Euless Police Department in 2014.
Join us in taking a moment to honor Officer Hofer and making a vow to ‪#‎NeverForget‬ the sacrifice he made and the sacrifice his family will continue to make.
