Chief Mike Scott of the Hillcrest Fire Department (Raeford, Hoke County, North Carolina) was seriously burned in a fire and subsequent explosion yesterday. He sustained burns to his arms and face while fighting a woods fire near the Raeford Municipal Airport, not far from Fayetteville.

FIREFIGHTER SUFFERS REPORTED MEDICAL EMERGENCY WHILE RESPONDING-LODD - The Secret List 
Tragic report out of Hanover (PA) as a Firefighter responding and driving apparatus to a mutual aid working house fire, suffered a medical emergency. The apparatus left the road but no others were injured.

As you will remember, Boston Fire Lt. Edward Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy died in the Line of Duty March 26, 2014. The men were trapped in the basement of the brownstone building on Beacon Street. The fire also injured 18 others, including 13 Firefighters.

9/11 Cancer continues to kill Firefighters, Police Officers, EMS and other operational personnel. It is with regret that we pass along the death of Retired Firefighter Joseph Morstatt. He was an FDNY Firefighter in Engine 93, Ladder 45 and Rescue 1. He came down with World Trade Center related cancer. He was buried today in Middletown, NY. Our condolences to all those affected by this loss.
