Greensboro, NC Local 947 is hosting the first IAFF peer support training course this week on behavioral health issues affecting fire fighters. The two-day curriculum includes components on active listening, suicide awareness, prevention and crisis intervention, how to identify local resources and building relationships with local behavioral health providers. The Greensboro training is a beta test of the program, which will be offered across the U.S. and Canada.
