Deadly Man O' War Now Infiltrating Fire Island

Fed up with the folks stumbling onto the Wildwood Drunk Bus, the deadly Portuguese Man O' War that have been flooding New Jersey beaches of late have found their way to Fire Island. A tipster tells us she found two translucent floating terrors washed up on a Cherry Grove beach this morning:
Again, though you may be drawn to pick up these beautiful siphonophores and transform them into surreptitious rum flasks, remember that their tentacles are covered in a poison that will sting, paralyze, and/or kill you even days after they are dead.
Still, they're quite magnificent:
Remember, these collective zooids are just one of many non-human creatures quietly plotting our species' demise, with other contenders including squirrelscoyotes, and cats. At the very least, one of them is bound to win the Miss Fire Island contest.
