Cornerspotter: Paving Seattle's Streets in 1963

Cornerspotter is the Curbed Seattle feature in which we show you a historical photo taken somewhere in the city and you identify the location. Impress fellow Curbed readers with your knowledge by leaving guesses in the comments or send them to our tipline: seattle@curbed.com. We'll post the answer on Friday. And hey: no cheating!

As far as we can tell, the hard work these guys did back in 1963 is still there. Best we can tell, that travel agency on the left is now a bank. That hill straight ahead...still a hill. And if you drive long enough, you'll be taken to a place of "discovery." Got any guesses as to where in Seattle we are?

20th Ave W & West Dravus
34th and McGraw in downtown Magnolia, looking east up McGraw. The travel agency is about where the Key Bank drive thru is now. Oddly, there's a Seattle Public Library sign right next to it, but I don't remember a branch there. It must have moved to its current location shortly after. GG's Broiler is now Rogo's, it was Szmania's for many years. Scott's cleaners next to it, far right, was still a cleaners, Robert's, until fairly recently. The Union station is now a 76.
