Buenos Aires city mayor and presidential hopeful for the “Cambiemos” coalition, Mauricio Macri, has answered President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s critiques, who said he tried to govern the country with “sweet talk”, questioning the INDEC statistics bureau.
“I agree with the President with the fact that one does not govern the country with balloons and sweet talk, that’s why I will govern Argentina with real numbers, no the ones the INDEC is reporting,” Macri told reporters during a campaign rally in the province of La Rioja.
Yesterday, Ms Kirchner aimed at the mayor of Buenos Aires saying he tries to win elections with “sweet talk and balloons”, in reference to the yellow balloons Macri displays in BA city during local government inaugurations and works.
The presidential hopeful for the “Cambiemos” coalition, who will face UCR’s Ernesto Sanz and Civic Coalition’s Elisa Carrió in the upcoming August PASO primary elections, questioned the INDEC statistic bureau saying its inflation and poverty rates do not reflect the Argentine reality.
