Continuing Strife in Syria-- One of the Most Complicated Conflcts in the World= Al Jazeera

One gets the feeling that all major governments in the world wish the Syrian crisis would just go away, but it involves so many elements and such chancy variables that the world is condemned to just watching the incredible flow of refugees and the endless slaughter of the civilian population by the  government

Since Al Qaeda influence has mushroomed in this conflict, the United States is fearful of making a wrong move-- and also is a country tired of living on a war footing since Vietnam

Most Americans did not want to have anything to do with Libya ( and the terrorist attack on Americans in Benghazi there has strengthened the feeling that any involvement in this part of the world, ANY move, could " come back and bite us in the ass" as people say on the streets of NYC
