Learn to Write
For Psychoanalytic Publication or Presentation

Starting October 2015, TI will offer a six-week course designed to provide clinicians an opportunity to workshop a psychoanalytically informed topic for publication or presentation. Open to both current and past students, the course will be led by author Karen Starr, Psy. D. Participants will offer samples of their writing to the class and receive assistance regarding form, style, how to develop their voice and formulate clinical narrative, as well as how to integrate research. In addition, writing mentors will be available for those who want additional guidance and assistance.
Cost:
6 sessions : $500.00
Writing Mentor: $40.00 per session

Karen Starr, Psy.D. is author, with Lewis Aron, of the Gradiva-award nominated A Psychotherapy for the People: Toward a Progressive Psychoanalysis; author of Repair of the Soul: Metaphors of Transformation in Jewish Mysticism and Psychoanalysis; and author of several psychoanalytic journal articles and book chapters. She is editor, with Jill Bresler, of the forthcoming Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy Integration. Dr. Starr serves on the Editorial Board of the Psychoanalysis and Jewish Life Book Series, Academic Press. She is an adjunct faculty at Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus and Clinical Supervisor at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. She is a recipient of the NYU Postdoctoral Ruth Stein Prize for Intellectual Scholarship and the National Institute of the Psychotherapies Author Recognition Award.
