A 21-year-old man drowned in the backyard pool of the Beverly Crest home of actress Demi Moore early Sunday, authorities said.
Los Angeles police were dispatched about 5:20 a.m. to the 9000 block of Oak Pass Road and discovered a man who had been removed from the pool and was being treated by paramedics, said Sgt. A. Bone of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later, according to the county coroner’s office.
He was identified Sunday afternoon as Edenilson Steven Valle of Los Angeles.
Lt. Fred Corral of the county coroner's office said Valle was found floating in the deep end of the pool. Friends and family told authorities that the man had been missing for 10 to 15 minutes and did not know how to swim.
Moore was not home at the time, “nor were there any family members associated with the celebrity at the location,” Bone said.
“From what I understand it was a staff member” who had drowned, he said.
